You guys want a fun stat?

Guess who leads the NFL in Turnover Worthy Play percentage?

Josh Allen. He’s like the golden boy according to most Cowboys fans so this should be fun to watch.

But...but... but.. how many of those Turnover Worthy Plays are due to WR running wrong routes, balls bouncing off the hands of the WRs, deflected balls, etc?

Dak Prescott has the 7th best TD to INT ratio in NFL history.
Correct, which is why I'm not so concerned long-term. For the 2022-2023 Cowboys team, they have been, and still are an issue moving into the post-season. We have an offense, defense, and special teams unit that can win a championship right now. Turnovers are a fatal flaw moving into the playoffs, which is a major cause for concern. Hopefully moving forward we don't have a receiving corps of Lamb and a bunch of guys that can't catch or get open.

This stat is not about actual interceptions.

It’s percentage of throws / fumbles that SHOULD equate to turnovers.

So it essentially removes good throws that turn into turnovers and includes bad throws that get lucky and are not turnovers.

Ah! OK, Thanks for the clarification, maybe they should simplify the name of the stat and call it QB Lucky % rate :D

I’ve heard on here numerous times how Allen is 10 times better than Dak and and how Dak’s INTs are such a huge deal.

Allen is better IMO (mostly bc of his running) but this just proves the point you can still be a good QB even if you’re throwing a decent amount of INts. As long as the good outweighs the bad, which it does for both Allen and Dak, then it’s not a glaring concern.

1=no concern vs 10=very concern

I will say this.......I like that he's still being aggressive but these issues have a way of showing up in the playoffs where the margin is razor-thin. Remember we had penalty issues all last season? Guess what cost us in the playoffs?

Good teams will punish us. It has already cost us two games.. Defence is banged up.. Pollard has niggles, OLine is patchwork.. we will not recover if Dak continues to turn the ball over.

Also another stat that seemingly gets missed is Daks fumbles.. he is the team leader in fumbles with a whopping 51 over his career. So I'd say I'm pretty concerned about turnovers in generally.. and Dak is the leading villian in that stat. If we get up against quality oppo.. it will kill us.

Although there were some bad passes in there, a majority of the ints were from tips, poor decisions and bad luck.
