Your Dallas Cowboys after Jerry moves on.

That sounds possible. What concerns me is, especially if Stephen is basically Mark Davis, then what's to stop him from turning us into the current Raiders. What's to say that the team even stays in Dallas?
Do u follow the team due to the Star on the helmet or due to where they are geographically located?

I know people want to see this happen. I would too but it is extremely unlikely to ever happen.

It is more likely Stephen Jones will hire someone to manage football operations. Perhaps he will end up doing the same managing other areas of the franchise as well.

He knows he is not his father. It is unlikely he will continue to run the franchise according to all the cliff notes he has jotted down through the years. He is not nearly the salesman as his Pa and will be incapable to talking his way into the same type of lucrative deals, sponsorships, etc., that fell into his father's lap.

No one will ever see Stephen's CGI hips gyrating in a Papa Johns' pizza. It is not in him. He can barely sell stadium rodeo shows as entertainment.

It is more likely he will be a more hands-off owner. There is too much defective DNA in him to step completely out of the limelight.

He will never stop pretending to be just like his Daddy Dearest, which is why selling the team will not happen. All the kids are billionaires. Dude is (I guess) a chemical engineer. He became super-wealthy without doing any real work. Why the heck would he give it up the opportunity to make billions more doing the same after becoming head honcho?
Totally ridiculous comment that Stephen in over thirty years has done very little work, you really have no idea how much work he has put into the franchise as u r just making an obvious comment rooted from jealousy. Guaranteed he has put in more hours than you over the past 30 years. When Stephen is in charge I do believe he will hire an outside GM or for that matter it could be McClay.

I like the star, but it's more of the fact that I've always been a fan of the team. My point is that I think the Joneses would rather relocate or fold the team than sell it. I think they'd rather kill the Cowboys than sell them.

How would relocating the team help them to not sell it? All plans have already been made for the team to stay in the family’s hands. If one member of the family wants to cash in that’s simple enough as u just find a replacement investor. If the team became the Utah Cowboys they would still be my team.

With Stephen we will WISH Jerry was still in control
It depends on each individual's perspective. Dallas' annual efforts can decrease in the number of postseason appearances witnessed in the past thirty years and increase the number of below average regular season finishes.

Yes, that would be more worse outcomes under Stephen Jones and Jerry Jones. However, what would be the difference in championship contending potential? In my opinion, there would be no difference so I would not wish that his father would still be in control. The final results would remain unchanged.

I think your onto something. It's like the captain going down with his crew and ship. I can see this. The Joneses aren't normal. They would definitely think like this.

Have you not labeled other members (or at least one other member) as being jealous of Jerry or any of the Jones family's efforts in the past? I apologize in advance if I have recalled that incorrectly.

Stevie has been in control for years now. Jerry isn't in there cutting players, interviewing anyone. He's not even cutting checks. He's a figurehead. A front man

Oh, they'd still be my team in all likelihood too.

As for how it might "help", consider this hypothetical scenario. The stadium has been open since 2009. It's a 15 year old stadium at this point. Texas Stadium made it 37 years as the home of the Cowboys. So, we're almost halfway to the expected life time of the stadium, assuming they don't want a new stadium sooner. So, let's say the stadium is open for 30 years before replacing. Then, let's say that Stephen takes over within the next 5 years. So, you'd be almost 10-15 years away from the stadium potentially being replaced. Let's say the Cowboys are bad under Stephen, like, rivaling the Raiders bad. So, let's say Stephen goes to the nearby cities around DFW to open the negotiations for a new stadium. If they make it clear that he either sells the team or no new stadium for him, what do you think he does? Does he 1. Sell the team or 2. Open the door for relocation?

From my perspective, Jerry is a big fan and really wants to win and have happy fans - he's just not good at managing a football team and continuously failing at reproducing Jimmy Johnson or Tom Landry's results.

Stephen on the other hand - he's trying to protect his inheritance. I think the real problem with this team isn't Jerry, it's Booger getting in the way.

... who went after acquiring Trey Lance from San Francisco without practically telling anyone he would do so. I cannot say how much control Jerry Jones continues to exert but would disagree he is as toothless as some suggest.

Exactly, and, like I just said to another user here, ATT Stadium will has been open for 15 seasons already. I know, it's hard to believe. While I know the MetroPlex loves the Cowboys, do we think they're going to fork up even more money for a stadium and ownership that clearly has no clear plan for a Lombardi? I think there's a possibility that the next stadium deal could be a problem.

When "Jerry moves on"?

You mean dies?

He ain't going ANYWHERE....unless it's in a coffin.

And even then, I bet he'll have a clause in his will that his idiot sons will get nothing unless they prop his coffin up in the owners box every game for the cameras to see, and keep his coffin in the "middle seat" in the War Room during Draft Night, where everyone will high five the coffin after every krappy pick the idiot son makes.

I think he's useful on rare occasions like the Lance situation you mentioned. But largely he's not front and center like before. That would be booger jr and McClay.

Agree. Jerry turned the team into his piggy bank that doesn't resemble a real team sometimes. That's an issue.

Jerry's head will be in a jar at the museum ..I mean the star in Frisco.

He may step back & let football people run the organization but I can't see any reason a family would sell a money printing license.
And I think most would be fine with this. Let football people run football. That also includes managing the cap because obviously they are lost at doing so.
