Why would some of you guys commit that much money to a losing team? I personally wouldn't sign any free agents that wanted deals longer than three years and more than 3 mil per.

Build exclusively through the draft.

Had some time to waste.

Las Vegas Knights

Team philosophy

Overall: Hard working, overachievers that believe 100% in the team and understands their role. Tough, gritty guys that are team leaders that won't quit and will play with a mean streak.

Offense: Power Run Heavy: Obviously, there aren't many franchise QB's available, so I would need a bus driver QB to run a power running offense that focuses on clock control, moving the chains, and quick developing routes.

Defense: Tampa Cover 2: Heavy focus on stopping the interior run and allowing for pass rush. Built around a physical secondary that loves to hit and linebackers with range.

HC: Lovie Smith

QB: Charlie Batch, Tim Tebow
RB: Ahmad Bradshaw, Michael Turner, Chris Rainey
FB: Tony Fiametta
WR: Brandon Lloyd, Austin Collie, Steve Breaston, Early Doucet
TE: Dallas Clark, Kevin Boss
OT: Eric Winston, Max Starks, sean Locklear
G: Brandon Moore, Jake Scott, Leroy Harris
C: Todd McClure, Dan Koppen

DT: Sedrick Ellis, Ty Warren, Amobi Okoye
DE: John Abraham, Israel Idonije, Juqua Parker,
LB: Nick Barnett, Brian Uracher, Daryl Smith, Michael Boley, Leon Williams
CB: Quentin Jammer, Nate Clements, Stanford Routt
S: Kerry Rhodes, Quintin Mikell, Charlie Peprah

K: Lawrence Tynes
P: Brian Moorman

Sure this team leaves a lot to be desired and will most likely be picking in the top 5 of the draft, but the majority are hard workers that should lay a foundation for the next gen. I would invest heavily in getting younger and finding talent in the upcoming drafts, leveraging trades to get the best players available, as most on this team would not be on the team the next season. I didn't fill the roster because I would likely try out undrafted rookies here too to fill roles.

San Antonio
Oklahoma City
Portland
Los Angeles
Anaheim
Lincoln, Nebraska
Orlando
Salt Lake City

I'm not sure Las Vegas would really work. It's not really a sports town and I think it would have major attendance/revenue issues.

Somewhere like OKC would work IMO because they would have no troubles filling the seats. The same people filling the OU/OSU seats on Saturday would be filling the OKC seats on Sunday.

In year 1, I would use all draft picks on OLinemen. I would fill out the remainder of the roster with low cost players; although, If there were any good OLinemen in Free Agency I would sign them also. I would continue to pursue very high upside OLinemen in the draft and Free Agency in year 2.

My #1 goal would be to build the best OLine in the history of the NFL.

After losing all games in the 1st year, I would obtain the #1 overall pick and draft a QB; however, I might not start him that year unless the OLine was already good.

My #3 priority, would be to spend some resources to acquire multiple RBs, WRs and TEs in both the draft and Free Agency.

The defense would come from Free Agency and UDFAs.

Hopefully, by year 3 the OL is good and there are some good offensive skill players on the roster. At this point, the young QB drafted in year 2 should be in an environment where he can thrive. There defense would be a low priority in the first 3 years compared to the offense.

I envision using all possible resources to surround an Andrew Luck type of QB with the best possible supporting cast on offense.

I would only start using draft resources on the defense once the offense has began to show that it is a dominant unit. IMO, the learning curve for playing defense is shorter than for most offensive positions.

Just envision an Andrew Luck type QB with 10 of the best OLinemen in the NFL and the remainder of the roster filled in with whoever is available.

In all honesty though, just to play devils advocate here, would you really pass up say a 2nd round rated RB or CB in that first year in the 4th round and take an OL rated as a 5th rounder?

Im not arguing your logic here, but your year 1 draft would have a total of 14 draft picks, 2 1's, 2 2's, 2 3's, etc.. You would draft 14 OL?

Just to add onto my original post, my year 1 draft would look something like this. I do not take a Rd 1 QB because I am picking in the middle of the round and the QBs drafted there typically are reaches with the elite talent taken in the top 5. Of course it would change depending on BPA, given my current roster above:

1 OT, DE
2 LB, OG
3 FS, WR
4 QB, OT
5 RB, CB
6 LB, OT
7 K, P

Yes, possibly, but it would have to be my teams rating, not some internet draft analysts like Mel Kiper's rating.

In my scenario, my team would have to carry more OLinemen on the roster than normal in the 1st couple of years; however, I'm not concerned about having the best possible special teams players on the roster during that period of time (i.e. I replace a Danny McCray type with an OLineman).

Another thing that I would try to accomplish would be to raid other teams practice squads whenever possible during the 1st couple of years when my team is bad. There are 8 x 32 (256) practice squad players during the season. There must be a few good players in that group.

All backups would be young players with the exception of the OLine where some veterans would be needed to enable the young QB to function.

Difficult to know which players would be available to you as teams, under expansion rules must make 5 players from their existing rosters available to expansion draft. This would almost certainly improve the pool of available players. It's also not specific as to the year in which you would be coming on line. Based on those factors, it's almost impossible to fill out a roster.

However, here is what I would try to do for my coaching staff and Front Office.

General Manager: Tom Gamble
Director Player Personnel: Marc Ross
Scouting Director: Alonzo Highsmith
HC: Bill Cowher
OC: Paul Chryst
DC: Matt Eberflus

Hilarious. MASCOT SHOULD DRAG A WOMAN BY HER HAIR WHILE HOLDING A CLUB AND A CAN OF BEER. OF COURSE HE WOULD NEED THREE ARMS.

14 picks?

I build the OL, at least 4 picks. I build the DL, at least 3 picks. I build the LBs, at least 3 picks. I grab a WR and TE. I grab a CB and S. If an elite QB prospect is available when our 1st pick comes around, I grab him....otherwise, I wait till UDFA to grab a QB.
