Your Favorite Back not Named Jeanty

Hampton.

More down the line, Harvey and Neal.

And I don't know how good he is, but some sites said 7th round for the Arkansas back and I thought he looked quite a bit better than that.

A lot of good backs. I got to be honest I thought Skattebo was a cool nice college story but he may legit be good. I have no idea where he goes and it wouldn’t surprise me if he had a short career but he is a better prospect than I thought.

I think I like Sampson the best for value if he made it to round 3.

So hard to pick.

Both OSU boys. Henderson for his explosiveness, passing game possibilities and low wear and tear. Judkins for his physicality. Im gonna say Judkins is better just to rile up @Risen Star lol

Tuten brings blazing speed with and every down back skill set

Giddens for vision and contact balance. The fact that he played with our OL coach and Center really helps too. Running for us will be old hand

Blue if we somehow get a 4th would add a guy who is a threat to take it to the house anywhere on the field

Martinez and Gordon for their power

Sampson could be like Aaron Jones with some Alvin Kamera mixed in

He is legit good, but probably not as a featured back. Think Barber spelling Julius Jones in 2006 and 2007

I’m starting to warm up to Giddens. The offense for KSt is always in shotgun and looks a lot like ours. It runs between the tackles. He does get caught a lot from behind it seems.

Judkins (1) or DMartinez (2) in the third....one of these two should be there.
Tahj Brooks (1) or Phil Mafah (2) in the 5-7........one should be there.

if it is Judkins and Brooks.......you have your primary in Judkins, your bell cow that gives some rest in Tahj Brooks, your gimmick guy in Deuce Vaughn, and your fullback in HLuekpe.........not as big of issues with injury if you are trying to have a power running game.

I wouldn't mind this being the RB room this next year if you are really going to be a tough running team instead of finesse.

Man, the more I watch him, the more I think Jaydon Blue might also be my favorite. Reminds me a lot of Gibbs.
Yes he does look a lot like Gibbs, if Dallas could draft Blue and draft a power back with him that would be Ideal, I like Jeanty but think he will gone before the 12th pick.

He ran a 4.3 at the combine. But clocked two 4.2s at his Texas pro day. Would love him as sort of a Tony Pollard 2.0.

Jaydon Blue certainly could be a Pollard starter kit. He’s certainly dynamic.

NFL.com has a great post-combine scouting report on Blue:

Strengths

  • Quick, agile feet to slither around the interior.
  • Ankle flexion allows him to make sharp turns.
  • Good top-end speed to widen the field on outside runs.
  • Can juke and sneak past open-field tacklers.
  • Legitimate mismatch option as a receiver out of the backfield.
  • Runs wheel routes and angle routes for big plays.

Weaknesses

  • Lacks tempo and processing quickness as a runner.
  • Runs too small inside and accepts the contact.
  • Fumble rate will be frowned upon.
  • Will have drops on off-frame throws.
  • Mental mistakes in protection caused sacks.
The above is why I see Blue as a late Day 2 (round 3) or early Day 3 (round 4) pick. He’s got a lot to offer but IMO he’s not a classic every down RB. Blue likely has a mid 4th round value. Which is where Pollard was drafted.

Damien Martinez is the best back this year after Jeanty and it’s not close, guy is maybe the most underrated player this year. Big fan of Tuten too.
