I could not watch it because of the laugh tracks. I don't know why that bothers me so much now but it's like fingernails on the chalkboard.I give likes to a lot of these, but I don't know if I could watch a b&w show now.
He acquiesced with the condition that there would be no laugh track during the OR scenes. I don't like them either but I can tune them out pretty easily. Kind of like black fly season.I could not watch it because of the laugh tracks. I don't know why that bothers me so much now but it's like fingernails on the chalkboard.
My favorite TV show of all time is MASH but I waited to buy the collection until they offered the first seasons without the laugh track. Larry Gelbart never wanted a laugh track but that was the formula for all shows deemed "sitcoms" and the networks got their way. I think that is the reason he took it in a different direction to be a dramedy in order to get the laugh track removed, just a theory of mine.
I never understood the need for a laugh track. Want a live studio audience fine but why try to create laughter in a totally phone way and reuse the same tired laugh tracks?
