despite my previous post of not remembering.....which is kinda true for a
"real" rock concert.
my first concert was Gary Lewis and the Playboys & Sam the Sham and the Pharoahs ( i am not making this stuff up youngsters)
the year was around 1966 or so at the Beaumont (TX) City Auditorium.
Gary Lewis is the son of the famous Jerry Lewis.
and yes i am getting old.

i almost died. was in front row getting squished. well worth it though.

Dude I was there too...not front row,but pretty close.
They were incredible.

Growing up in Dominican Republic=no rock concerts for me,unless we were the band.
My first official rock concert was Soda Stereo,in 1990.

Ahhh, SuckFest '88...

:D

The concert took place only a few months after i came to the US and i really wasn't familiar with most of the bands, except Ziggy. Family members and friends who had been in the US for a while took me along so i can experience it.

The show was not too bad if i remember it correctly, especially since it was my first time to US concerts, although i didn't know what to make of Iggy Pop at the time:confused::D.

I really enjoyed Ziggy though and went backstage to meet him and get his autograph. My brother in-law played the keyboards for him back then.

About a year ago. Started with Hurt, Seether, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace. Centurytel Center in Shreveport, LA.

Just went to another one last night. Started with Lacuna Coil, Chimaira, Killswitch Engage, and Disturbed. Disturbed was awesome.

I think the first show I saw was at the fairgrounds in my home town... Pure Prairy League and Eddie Rabbitt. Must have been around 1978.

The first big concert I saw was Journey with Bryan Adams opening. April 28, 1983 in Mobile, AL.

1988 (a.k.a. "The Monsters of Rock", July 3) Texxas Jam was at the Cotton Bowl. The groups...
This was the show where Sammy Hagar lost his voice after only a couple of songs and then he promised to play a free show in Dallas. A few years later they did just that at Dallas' West End.

I was there and highly PISSED because I drove 6 hours for this show and knew there was no way I could make it back for the "free" VH show. Michael Anthony tried to sign lead vocals for two or three songs and naturally it sucked.

The rest of the gig was really very good.

i saw ozzy osbourne with motley crue in 1984.

that was a kick *** concert.

ozzy eventually dropped them from the tour because motley crue were getting more fan reaction than him.

scorpions were a great concert in 84....i love me some matthias jabs.

triumph and judas priest were great as well...saw both 3 times.

Iron Maiden, Number of the Beast.
They opened for Priest for a while, then did some shows on their own.

Unforgettable. I was so young and blown away by the whole thing.
Spiked wrist bands and roaring music. Then that goofy Eddie character came out on stage. Wild.
