Mostly I just drink untreated water from our muddy water creek - we do let it settle some, though. We screen out the bigger critters and don't worry about the smaller ones. Been doing this since 1993 and all my digestive problems have cleared up.

Don't try this at home - we have no farmers upstream of us, only other cattle ranches. Sometimes the water gets a little "interesting" but most of the time it is almost sweet it is so good. When I first moved down here it used to bother me to drink after the cattle and seeing the occasional cow patty floating by but I got over that a long time ago. All the folks up and down the creek drink the water and live into their mid-90s so if it hurts them, it takes a long time to do it.

Occasionally I'll drink a beer, especially after a rain and the creek is real muddy.

Damn, I love country life - we got the best of everything.

They don't serve anything worthy of my liver in TX Stadium, but when I get desperate I drink the Jack and colas:mad:

I'm gonna sneak in my flask this year, fill it wit some cognac;)

Y'all might think I'm putting you on but I'm not. For thousands of years people have been drinking creek and pond water without problems - where do you think the digestive flora come from? Digestive problems start when we put poisons like chlorine and bleach in tihe water and that kills off our ability to properly digest our food. Drinking creek water cleared up the digestive problems I had for 20 years before I moved out to the ranch and got off city water.

Our creek water settles out pretty clear (it's rainwater and spring water combined) and tastes much better than city water and I think it's better for us, me anyway. We can have city water piped in from the highway but we don't want it.

We always keep a couple of gallon jugs of bottled water on hand for guests.

they also had shorter life spans. Seriously though, if this world wasn't so polluted...I can't even drink tap water. But, i've tasted pure H2O before, and it is the nastiest thing ever. Bottled water or kettle boiled please.
