Meeting details
Bill Parcells met with his assistant coaches at a scheduled staff meeting this morning that lasted 2-3 minutes. Parcells told them matter-of-factly, "Mentally and physically, I don't have the energy anymore. That's it fellas. I'll be here all week. If I can help you, I will."

If he really wanted to help his assistants, he would've given them permission to take jobs with different teams last week because he couldn't guarantee them that he would return. Since he didn't, nearly all of them missed out on getting jobs with other teams. You have to love that kind of loyalty.

I am pretty bummed out that he took so long making his decision. He really put us in a tough spot WRT available assistant coaches. The timing was very poor not only for the team but also for his assistants that could possibly have missed out on other possible coaching opportunities. This whole deal really blows........

I think it is idiotic to say that Bill hurt his assistant's chances at a new job.

Bill is perhaps the coach in this league that has done the most for his assistants - guys who work with him get jobs. Promotions even.
