Will he hire a GM to work with him or will it be more of a "consultant"?

Will he have final say like daddy?

My bet is he hires someone but keeps final say on most if not all things concerning the Cowboys roster, trades, etc. and will have the official title of GM.

I wouldn't be surprised if he hired a GM nor would I be surprised if he had the same responsibilities as Jerry. Personally, I think he'll step into the exact same role Jerry has been in. He'll be more invisible, but he'll have the same responsibilities.

I think he probably cringes at some things his old man does.

And I think he'll hire a GM.

I have faith in Stephen. He doesn't seem to be the attention-seeker his father is. Jerry was a 47-year old "oilman" when he bought the team. Stephen was only 25, so in my mind, he grew up in the Dallas Cowboys business.

Everytime we hear about Stephen it's because he is trying to calm down his father or talk Jerry out of one of his ideas. Stephen has been credited with some clever salary-cap manuevering as well.

I also wouldn't be surprised if Stephen hired one of the 1990 era Cowboys (Aikman, Novacek, Irvin, Darren Woodson) to be the GM or assistant GM.

When they close the lid on the box. Jerry is an ego maniac.

Really, never heard that Lab.

Pretty sure Norm or someone said it... That he didn't care about wearing all the hats Jerry does and would hire someone.

Though like the others said, he might do something like what Jerry does now, only not so in the spotlight.

Really, with his experience after all these years, I think he could actually be a good GM. But if he did that, I bet he'd hire a really top assistant.

He might be a super GM but he'll probably bring in a "right hand man". I just love the Aikman idea!

Lets hire Deion as GM. The team will be 53 WR's and DB's. All high stepping regardless of the situation.

Something a lot are overlooking is that Stephen isn't a only child.

Stephen, Charlotte and Jerry, Jr. will all have big roles in the organization. Obviously Stephen will be the ring leader. How things all shake out no one knows.

One thing for certain, when that happens, Jerry will have Stephen's phone on speed dial.

Future phone call...Ringg Rinngg

Stephen: "Hey Dad."

Jerry: "Here's what we need to do. I say we call a press conference and you announce that I have come out of retirement and then we make a trade for [insert primadonna name here]."

Stephen: " Okay Dad, we talked about this. This isn't healthy."

Jerry: " Look I already have it all worked out. I just got off the phone with Al Davis and he is willing to trade us Herschel Walker Junior."

Stephen: " Dad, Mr. Davis passed away, several years ago. Remember? The Raiders are good again? "

Jerry: " Wait, what? No..I ....I.... uh oh, I'm cold."

Stephen: " Dad, did you...?? again.."

First things first.
When Stephen assumes the throne we should all fall to our knees and thank the Lord/Lordess.

He will be like a regular owner. He'll hire a GM. He'll stay out of the way. He'll make lots of money and get a few Super Bowls and we'll all love him. I mean love him like men love each . . . no, I mean, we'll love what he does. Yes, that's it.

My hope is that Stephen is not as crippled by his own ego as Jerry is. I hope he does the right thing and hires a good GM rather than try to wear too many hats at once.
