You can move this thread if it's in the wrong forum... what are y'all's experience with the standing room only/party pass tickets? I probably wouldn't care but my BFF and I are trying to take her daughter (my niece) who's 15 to her first football game ever. My BFF seems to think that sitting would give us more "energy" and more of an experience but it's like a hundred bucks more per ticket for the cheapest seated tickets. So would it suck for me to take my niece into standing room where she may not see anything at all? Or should we just go to the game and try to buy tickets there from random scalpers that might be cheaper?

I appreciate your thoughts and feel free to move the thread if it's in the wrong place.

PS My BFF keeps telling me I will have to control myself if there are Indy fans around b/c she knows how I get and she wants me on good behavior in front of my niece. LOL! I say she's gotta learn how to deal with haters sooner or later...

I've never been and wish I could help out.

With that said it could be fun to wander around, check the place out while taking in a Cowboy game.

I'm sure you could wander around and see the game from several different vantage points.

I do this all the time at the Rockies games and once at Texas Stadium.

The experience alone is worth going.

Sorry, that's all I got.

I haven't ever been in the Party section but I hear that if you get up front you gotta stay there or you'll never get your post back. Unfortunately it could be a tough ticket, when there's something on the line, the "Winner's Town" as Troy calls Dallas loves to come out of the shadows.

Don't do it. I had a seat for the 2009 playoff game against the Eagles and was glad I did. You won't have much of a view unless you rush to the front and get pushed against the railing. Bathroom breaks are out of the question. Splurge and get the seats. I might go to the game too!

Most folks in the party pass section seem to end up watching the game on the video board. If you're near the back, you haven't got a chance to see the field. Go for the seats.

My suggestion as well, especially since it is your niece's first pro football game. You will never see the field unless you are really lucky with party pass.

I've heard the party pass experience is miserable. Buy the seats, she deserves it!

for a big game the party pass experience is very cool.
when the stadium is electric it makes it very worthwhile to just be in the building and that price gets you in.
there are monitors everywhere and a lot easier access to food/drink as a party pass person.

if you want to get the best standing spots that can be a bit different. it means getting their early, camping out and driving your feet/legs to some insane level of exhaustion.

but i'd do it for a playoff type type atmosphere.
get in the building with 50k or so other Cowboys fans and enjoy the spectacle.

i wouldn't do it more than a couple times per year.

but it is a budget friendly way to take in a game.

I've only been to the stadium twice. during the very first pre-season game there and to take my sister/bro in law/niece for the tour. seeing where the party pass is, it's a sardine can as everyone has said. they show it every once in awhile during games and I *hate* crowds with the white hot passion of a million dying suns crying out in agony because they've been sentenced to "death by kevin Costner movies" and never go to theme parks or the like anymore. people push into me more than a few times my MOSH side comes out. actually getting older, I just avoid the crowds. having a great seat was bad enough.

but like people have said. you have to get there early to get in the front and then you have thousands behind you pushing you into whatever railing they have there. if you want this to be a "good" experience, I'd just get the seats. yea it costs more but I'd look to save on parking and find something that has a shuttle that can take you to the front anyway. if you get "affordable" parking you'll need to hire bike dudes to give you a ride to the stadium.

We have season ticks and at least once a year I will take a couple of family members that have never been so the kiddos give up their seats and head to the party pass section. They really don't seem to mind it and always manage to find somewhere to watch the game. According to them the better areas or least crowded tend to be towards the higher levels. If you want to be on the main level in the endzones you have to be there when the stadium opens which is always 2 hours before game time. Another item of note is the party passes are designated to either the west or east side. The only way to get from one side to the other is after the stadium has opened by going to the very top and walking across. The club sections are located goal line to goal line from the first level to third and the only way in is by having a ticket for those sections. They have security checking tickets so they won't let you in. Party passes are a pretty economical way of getting the game day experience. Some people love it others hate it. There is so much going on outside that people end up out there watching the game on the screens especially in the Miller Lite Corral located on the west side of the stadium. It's like a big tailgate party. Hope this helps.

Good review and good notes.
If I took my daughters I'd be tempted to get party passes instead of seats because they'd rather walk around and see everything, eat/drink/shop.
But for a traditional experience seats are a must.

Don't nickle and dime it. If she truly is your BFF, what's the question? You're buying memories!

BTW, send pics of y'all in your SEATS!!!

Definitely agree that seats are a must for a traditional experience. I would base it off of the level of fan they are. Not to sound cheap but I have seen so many fans over they years come into our section and spend half the game in the pro shop or just wandering around. Tickets are expensive and I always think what a waste. To each their own though I guess lol.

Sounds like fun if you just go for the party with no expectations of seeing the field. Probably not a good spot for young kids.

Yeah, if she were older, I'd say let's just deal with the party pass. What's funny is when she was 13 we took her to London to see her "man" Daniel Radcliffe (of Harry Potter fame) in a play on the West End. She was determined to get his autograph. So my BFF made ME stand by the stage door with her. When he came outside it was a complete SCRUM (to rival any fumble in the NFL) of kids and adults alike. I had to physically back them all off her to get the coveted autograph and I'm like a buck 10 soaking wet. It was hilarious. So she's kinda of used to that kind of madness.

On second thought, I think I'd get SUPER annoyed if I couldn't see the field at ALL times for a game like this... I think we might just take our chances getting tix AT the game from some scalper. Guessing the price will drop after kick off? For UT games you can always get cheaper tix after the kick off...I might try craigslist too but I'm scared of getting scammed. Agh! I wish I was made of Jerry Jones Money! lol! :(

I love the party pass. I prefer it to seats. But then again, Im in my 30s and like to be rowdy/drink beer. Standing for ~5 hours is no big deal. Ive always made a bunch of buddies by the rails, so we protect each other spots for bathroom breaks. If we host a home playoff, Ill probably attempt another. And, for the record, I have also had upper and lower seats. So I do have several basis of comparison.

That said, when I took my son to his first game - I def bought seats. He is to little (9 yr old) to handle the party pass area.
