Your thoughts - Beasley resigned after this year?

They tried to work out a contract extension prior to this season, but they were "not close" according to reports.
didnt he say he wanted "top slot WR money" I have no clue what "top slot WR" money is?? I know outside guys are getting like 18-19mill??

Slot making what? 6-7mill???

he's not going anywhere. YES. He is the only good hands we have on special teams returning punts and kicks. Cant afford to lose the diversity he offers. I think DLAW may get tagged again...

I'm a huge fan of Beas, but it all comes down to market value. I can't see giving a slot guy the contract he's apparently looking for. It'll absolutely suck to see him go IMO, but I dont see SJ opening the pocketbook wide for his role

Besides the #91& the #50 ,I think the salty #11 is the most seasoned of team tenure, I hope he lands his payday somewhere if not for the team that's pulled his udfa casing-liner up to this pinnacle of demand status,,,Ya,we gotta retain this guy,,,JERRY:starspin:

I'm assuming we'll see a high turnover at WR next off season. TWill and Hurns are both most likely gone. Personally, Austin's body of work doesn't impress me enough to extend him. Beas will have to give the "homer" discount(hasn't shown he will). I could still see this team in the hunt come draft day for another WR, as well as retooling in FA

Yes, I think he does because Beasley has never lived outside the Dallas area.
At the same time he knows this is his last big deal and he wants to provide for his young and growing family for life.
So it may grow contentious before cooler heads prevail.

He wants to paid like the top slot WRs in football but at 30 I don't know he can get that type of money.
I mean some guys that play mostly out of the slot make 10M+.
I don't see DAL offering more than 7M annually.

Where they may find balance is with a solid percentage GTD and up front.
Say 5 years 34M with 12M Bonus and 18M GTD.
5th year is fluff but he likely gets 4 years 26M.

Highest paid slot WR is Landry at $15 million. Think Tate is making $10 million and is on the last year of his contract. Amendola signed for $6 million last season.

Prescott lost his binky and has replaced him with Beasley. If they're going forward with him, they will want to keep Beasley because Prescott hasn't shown the propensity to connect with receivers he hasn't worked with for some time. That is going to be the challenge with Cooper because if you watched the Raidahs when Carr was on, he was throwing Cooper and Crabtree open. Prescott has to get to a comfort level to do that unless he and Cooper connect immediately.

If that happens and Gallup begins to progress, then they could get a slot guy in the draft and save the money and everyone is going to want to get paid, especially of they go with that option year with Cooper at 14M.

If they don't fix this OL, they're going to need a slot guy that can get open pronto pronto.

He will be here. Its a negotiation tactic...start out outlandishly...then gradually make concessions..meet in the middle.

Cut Hurns, Thompson, Williams.

Start with Cooper and Gallup as your 1 and 2, Beas solidifies it in the slot, but ONLY if it’s on a hometown discount. He was going to retire as a udfa even after he was going to make the team and we talked him out of it. His numbers don’t warrant top slot money.
