I think it would be interesting to see the Zoners top 3 choices THAT HAVE AN, AT LEAST, SOMEWHAT REALISTIC CHANCE OF FALLING TO 22.

The ones that would have me jazzed for weeks:

1. Alan Branch - There I go, breaking my own rule. This guy is falling and a few boards have him around our level. Happy day, oh happy day!

2. Marshawn Lynch - Once again, he is slated to go 5-7 spots earlier. It would not be an amazing stretch of the imagination. (see Steven Jackson)

3. Robert Meacham - Getting more likely here. Love this guy!

More and more doubts about Branch. More red flags about attitude, motor, etc. NO WAY.
Lynch will be gone before us.
Meacham= maybe.

I am not sure about some of these guys, what I mean is I am not sure where some of them are slotted to go in the draft so if someone would be way to high for us or considered a lower round pick forgive me. With that in mind I have a few guys I could live with. I will probably narrow my list down as the draft gets closer. Each year I set up a list of 2-3 people I would like to take with our first pick. Normally Mongo and I...oops I mean Hostile get together in PMs and narrow a list down between both of us and usually see the same two players we would be happy with.

Anyways this is more than three but as I said I will narrow it down closer to the draft.

WRs Meachem or Ginn Jr

LBs (3-4) Moss or Spencer

DBs Nelson and possibly Ross (merriweather worries me)

Not sure about the Oline players as if we are going to take an O-Line player in the first round I think it should be an OT instead of OG because we have more less depth at OT.

1. Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee. I love everything about the kid.

2. Patrick Willis, ILB, Mississippi. Would provide the spark needed for our defense to dominate.

3. Paul Posluzny, ILB, Penn State. If Willis isn't there he fits the bill.

Marshawn Lynch will be gone and I can't tell you how pissed off I would be if we drafted him. Rule of thumb. If he isn't a RB freak-show. (like Peterson) He isn't #1 round calibre.

I'm not big on Meacham either. He is a nice player, but to much other talent in the #1 round to draft him. I would snap up Bowe though.

Even though there is risk involved, I would snap up Branch to be NT behind Ferguson. Ferguson could give him tutelage and this guy can handle two blockers. He just needs some time with someone who knows how to do it. As for his motor; it's a risk, but that can be changed. For his a attitude. Well, I think Goodell (and Jerry for that matter) has made it clear, bs isn't going to fly.

He has to much of everything you want in a dominate NT to let him pass.

1. Jarvis Moss - Need depth at OLB with Ellis being 32 and coming off an achilles rupture. With Moss we probably get that and a starting OLB for the future. Plus, Ellis' most *efficient* year as a *pass rusher* was probably 2005 (by efficient I mean sacks per times he got to rush the QB). That year he was getting only about 50-60% of the defensive snaps. I think Ellis is a more effective player at 50-60% of the snaps than 90%+ of the snaps. Have him and Moss share time and at times give Ware a breather and we may dramatically improve the pass rush as well.

2. Justin Blalock - We need O-Line depth badly and Blalock gives it. From watching him play and talking to some friends of mine that work in college football, I believe he can play center if they tried to teach him that position as well. So you'd have a guy that can any position on the O-Line, but is best suited to play guard then center, two positions we need depth at.

3. Darrelle Revis - People forget that Newman turns 29 this season, Henry is 30 years old and Aaron Glenn is 35 years old. I'm pretty high on Jacques Reeves, but he's still a bit of an unknown at this point despite playing so well in 2005. Revis would be more of a BPA pick that can help us fill a void in the future. Although I'm a bit skeptical of either Jones or Phillips selecting a CB as neither have been very good at selecting CB's in the past 10 years (Newman and Reeves were Parcells picks IMO).

1.Darelle Revis (Chris Houston a very close second)--Yakuza is on the money with his take. There is little depth at the position.

2.Dwayne Bowe--Another position where youth needs to be served desperately.

3.Patrick Willis--Great leader, very intense with good enough size and who would replace Bradie James mid-way through the season.

Why not Levi Brown ahead of Blalock? Unless it's because you don't think there is any possibility he will be there at #22.

1- a WR...Meacham or Bowe if we take one at 22...definitely would not be opposed to Ginn, Jarrett or Rice if we traded down though

2- CB...agree with the previous takes, its a concern...and at least if we take a CB there's a good chance they'd contribute this yr...I like Revis more than the other CB's

3- Branch...I have some concerns about the workout/condition issue, but when I watched him play he is good...if he fell in our lap at 22 I'd have to think about him...to be as big as he is he really moves well and he is dominant vs the run...Ferguson was ok last yr but he is older and wont be here much longer...I wouldnt be shocked if Branch could beat him out as a starter at some point this yr

I still wouldnt be surprised if we took Reggie Nelson though

I'm not impressed with Brown. I'd rather have Joe Staley if I was going for a tackle. But between Davis, Flozell (who we might get 2 more seasons out of), Colombo, Kosier, and McQuistan...at least we have a *chance* at some depth at offensive tackle. On the flip side, we have nothing at depth at guard or center.

3. It doesn't matter because if we pass on these two guys I will probably be disappointed with whoever we take.
