I think we can come up with a game called "Guess How The Cowboys Lose."

What is your favorite lost?

The Jets game tops last year game with the Saints simply because of the opening day status of both games. It seems that the Cowboys come up with unique ways to lose.

My favorite Lost was sometime in season 2. What a great series.

There are 2 losses I will never forget.

Both loses in the NFC championship games to the 49ers.

Almost coming back from 21-0, and the Stupid Dwight Clark Catch game, which was not even the play of the game, it was Pearson being drug down with a great saving tackle and then Danny White frickin fumbling the snap.

Giants playoff loss (year they won the sb), 44-6 loss against the eagles, saints game, jets game. The one that pissed me off the most was the 44-6 loss. Last game at Texas stadium against the Ravens was another good one.

Seattle playoff loss. Pittsburgh Steelers loss sucked, when Tony threw game ending pick. How about losing to the Titans w/ Young at QB last year?

We've had some great wins too. Undefeated NO, beat them. Eagles twice, Buffalo craziness.

For all the crap Tony gets, anyone remember when Favre threw a pick 6 to end a playoff game versus the Giants? I think.

The Seattle game nearly killed me. My friend - whose an Eagles fan - said he felt bad for me :laugh2:

Another one that really grinds my gears was against WAS in 07 or 08 in Washington. I think it was a tie ball game and Romo moved them down the field to get into field goal range. Of course the kick was blocked and the ref made a bs 15 yard facemask call that put the Commanders in FG range. In literally one play the Cowboys went from the cusp of winning to loss.

This team has found so many unusual ways to lose that it is comical now. Seriously, this team loses games that 98% of the teams in the league would win.

And people wonder why everybody calls Dallas the biggest chokers in the league. Well, when you start inventing ways to lose that nobody has ever seen before, you are going to be called chokers.

Growing up, my dad always talked about "The catch" game as the most memorable Cowboys loss, but also the most haunting. People sometimes forget that the pinky of a 49ers DB (Eric Wright I think) changed history that day just as much as Dwight Clark's catch did.

Oh, and personally the most memorable loss for me, by far, was the load left game at the Vet in '95. That was a once in a lifetime scenario that will never happen again in the NFL.

Speaking of crazy, memorable games, how many remember the Carolina game at Texas Stadium in '03? Down 13-0 with 5 minutes left, then Quincy Freaking Carter turns into Roger Staubach and throws two TD passes, including a 20-something yarder on fourth and a mile to Antonio Bryant who bobbled the catch for what seemed like an eternity.

in all seriousness, whatever loss gave us the chance to draft troy aikman

This will be unpopular, but there are some losses that I find more palatable than others simply because they were fantastic games. Last night's loss was gut wrenching, literally one of the only times I've ever felt sick after a game, but it was also an incredible battle. From the perspective of being a fan of the game (not just the Cowboys), it just had so much to offer: the emotional stage, the thrill of the first game, the rivalry between brothers, the match ups between truly elite players, and an incredible - if disappointing - comeback. It was one of those rare games where the the visceral intensity was transmitted every bit as vividly as the picture and the sound.

As a Cowboys fan, the outcome was miserable.

As a football fan, the game was epic.

My best friend is an OU fan and I watched the tremendous Boise St. upset with him, in 2007. After the shocking loss, he and I went to the store and as were were walking around he said, "You know, I'm not even mad, I just watched one of the most amazing games ever". He bleeds red, err...crimson, but the loss was softened, even momentarily forgotten because he experienced that pure form of magic that only sports can deliver.
