Jerry couldn't find the final pieces to finish a 25 piece jigsaw puzzle :D He needs to hire a real GM and let them finish the puzzle.....
At this time until further consideration and by all intent and purposes, Bill Parcells is the GM. IMO

I'd wait until after the Super Bowl, find out what my head coach's intentions are.

If he wants to leave, fire the entire coaching staff as well. Find a formidable head coach. No re-treads.

Trade Ellis, Glover, LA, Keyshawn, Glenn, Rivera, Bledsoe ... for whatever we can get. Peanuts if that's what it takes.

Ditch anyone over 30 other than Flo.

Rehaul the OL. Get mid-grade FA's ... tons of them.

Open the QB competition. Draft one in the first round if a quality caliber player is there. See what Washington wants for Ramsey.

Draft: WR, OL, FS, LB

DO NOT bring in TO.

And regress into roughly 3 to 4 seasons of Houston Texan-like mediocrity. Thanks, but no thanks.

That would be a death wish. :banghead:

If I am Jerry Jones, the first thing I do (after unwinding in my 8 person hot tub - the one shaped like Texas Stadium) is find a way to address the offensive line. This defense is both very good and young (a great combination) and will mature into something special over the next several years. But the offense is older, especially at receiver and o-line, and this team needs o-line help in the worst way.

So while we should still be gunning for the best player available at every position, I would look to draft some quality players on the offensive line, sign a FA kicker, send Henson to Europe and find out what he is made of, and following all that, look to add playmakers at every position (via FA, the draft, trade, whatever means are available).

For me, I would schedule a meeting with Parcells by Monday and demand a decision about his future here.

If he wants to go one more year, I'm fine with it.
Now I'm Parcells...
I would fire Zimmer and hire Capers.
I would get another OLine coach.
I would possible look into making a deal for T.O.
I would try and get Lecharles Bentley in FA
I would try and get one of 3 kickers in FA, if not I would draft one and pick up 2 in FA and let them battle it out.
I would eat one of two contracts. Either LA or Rivera - Considering I ditch LA, I would move Gurode to LG.
I would bench Tucker and Petitti
I would cut Campbell
I would send Henson/Romo to Europe, and then would give everyone of them a chance to battle for the starting role equally.
I would seriously consider moving Keyshawn out. We have a keyshawn in Crayton.
I would have Ferguson battle it out with a drafted DT
Ware would gain about 5 to 10 pounds (without losing speed)
I would draft or find a FA ILB and OLB.
I would trade both Glover and Ellis. Ellis for picks and Glover for a player or vice versa
I would make RW lose a little weight for speed. Better FS play will truly help RW's game, he could come closer to the line without helping so much in coverage.
I would send Davis back to special teams and a backup FS/SS
I would see what Beriault has and draft or get a FS in FA. Justin B and the others will battle it out for FS.
Fujita will go to the bench.
Singleton would be cut.
I would consider picking up Abraham in FA and teach him the OLB position.
I would work on McBriar's mental preperation and toughness for pressure kicks.

Draft - DT/RT/C/FS/ILB/QB/WR/G

I would fire Zimmer and the oline coach.
Hire Capers and another oline coach (obviously)
I would sell the fans on TO or the fact that we have a championship defense.

Cutting Rivera is not an option. His cap hit if he's cut would be about $7.2 million. Then after you get rid of Keyshawn, Ellis and Glover and absorb all of their bonuses on the 2006 salary cap, not only would not be able to sign Lecharles Bentley, you might not get all of your draft picks and your own free agents signed. (You'd be in great shape next season if you could pull it off)

I didn't see how you improved the OL there, which is our biggest problem.

Cut either Allen or Rivera and brought in Bentley. That's it?

I see where you benched both of our starting tackles and didn't bring any in. I'm assuming you leave Flozell alone, who's the other one?

Why in hell would we get rid of both of our WR Key and Glenn. Glenn had an 1,000 yard season and 7 TD's. Key had 839 yds and 6 TD's, not to mention many Key plays(GW TD vs. SF, GW TD vs. SD, etc) And then you say not to bring in TO.
Let me see...........that leaves us with Patrick Crayton and a couple rookie WR!!!!!

Then you say get rid of Bledsoe, so we can have ROmo or Henson throw? Ramsey?

Trade the best O lineman on the team in Larry Allen?

I am sorry but i strongly disagree with this!!!!
If we were to make these changes we would be an embarrassment to the NFL for at least 2 maybe 3 years. We'd be a 49ers or HOU like team!!!

I'll pass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Draft pick for for RT/Leave Flo at left, bench Johnson - if the cap hit is too large on Allen/Rivera, doesn't mean they will start. Gurode will push Allen/Rivera and if the 2 of them win out, then great.

But no one is safe on offense except Bledso and Glenn/Flo.

Why the infatuation with Dom Capers by some on this board?

I really don't get that.

I dont really think its infatuation with capers as much as its hate of zimmer.

Order Parcells to fire Zimmer and hire Dom Capers he has experience in the 3-4 and knows how to teach it.

Order him to fire his good buddy Sparano. How much would it take to hire Mike Solari away from K.C? If not Solari, I'll take his assistant Irv Eatman.

No you say? Fire Parcells and hire Wade Phillips or Marv Levy....yes I said Marv Levy.

Dump some of the excess....Terri Glenn (non-existent when it counts), Rivera(done), Singleton, Ellis and Glover.

Sign Bentley or Ashworth, T.O and a FS safety on the cheap.

Explore trading Roy Williams. The guy is incredibly overrated.

Just the top of the iceberg.

I don't fire BP right now..If he wants to walk away, then I can't do much about that.

No way I hire any of those 2 guys... If I'm forced to hire, he has to know the 3-4 and has to be youngish and energetic. I don't want anyone near the end of their careers. (been there done that)

When our defense becomes un-stoppable, Roy will be one of the reasons why, I keep him for now.

I'm ok with young and energetic, but it's a slippery slope if you make the wrong decision.

Wade Phillips is a great coach who got the short end of the stick in Buffalo when they were forced to dump salaries and rebuild.
