No, let him prove that he can play a full season. At the least, maybe halfway through this one with a lower guaranteed portion.

$5 million a year for a starting corner would be a no brainier these days.

Nope.

He's got so many issues that go beyond just covering a wide receiver. He's an absolute liability as defender in terms of tackling. Also, the strides he's done in a week of training camp notwithstanding, I'll be swayed when I see how he responds in meaningful real-game action when guys like Brandon Marshall are barking at him and getting into his fragile psyche.
nothing else needs to be said.

I'd take the risk. I think he will be really good this year. So yes

No.

Wonderlic score is scary and too injury prone.

It's anyone's guess as to how Claiborne's year will turn out. I say this in the sense that he's reportedly kicking butt in TC at present but history indicates that it's a slippery slope in predicting he'll be able to physically withstand the rigors of the NFL's regular season. In years past, fast starts in TC have been his calling card, only to be followed by less than desirable results when the lights come on. Who knows how he'll fare? Not I, sir.

Sure. Why not? Not all guaranteed so if he continues to fall short he's gone at little to no cost.

$5M/year for a CB is not expensive.

Wouldn't give him a 4 hour, $20 extension. He'd have to show radical improvement this year to make me think he's anything more than easily replaceable, and easily upgraded from.

Played well last year. I expect a solid plus year from him.

He was a solid CB when he was on the field in 2015.

My biggest issue with him was once again he missed significant time (5 games) and failed to finish the season.

I'd rather take a 5/10 CB for 16 games than a 7/10 CB for 10 games.

Reliability and being there is critical in the NFL -- especially at the end of the season when a team is <hopefully> making it's run.

It doesn't matter how talented a player is if he isn't able to hold up to the rigors of the season and be there at the end.

No. Id like to see him survive this season healthy.
