And Blake Jarwin.

Smith. Collins. Martin.

All these players Dak just said "no" to. He has no interest playing alongside them for the next few years because he either didn't get an extra few million more than he wanted or because he wanted a 4 year deal so he and his agent could make more money a year earlier.

That speaks volumes on Dak's priorities.

Dak will give the team his best effort, as he always does, which is why he is respected by his teammates and is routinely elected to be a team captain by them.

The players are all professionals who understand how business works.

Stop being dramatic.

Zeke went to cabo when his teammates were in training camp, refusing to come back till he got a new deal.
Zach Martin wanted to be the highest paid guard.
Amari Cooper didn't sign a deal till he reached free agency and got offers from other teams.

We don't know why it ultimately didn't get worked out between both parties. He could of pouted last year but didn't.

I still dont understand.

If he stepped his game up a notch over this duration of either a 4 or 5 year contract, he could name his price after.

If he didnt, he would have 8-9 seasons in the league without postseason success, and he would be a backup at that point.

I cant figure out how ONE year made such a difference to France, when it meant everything to the team for flexibility for cap room.

He signed the franchise tag, he said yes to them when he signed that. Dak is not the 1st player to end up on a franchise tag nor will he be the last. The dramatics around here tend to be over the top.

It also spoke volumes on zeke’s priorities, did you bring that up when he held out with two years left on his contract and didn’t show up for training camp?

At least Dak played through his contract and now he’s betting on himself, just like he did last year when people made fun of him. Nothing wrong with that. I can at least respect the fact that he honored his contract and is playing under the tag without complaining, that’s more than we can say for the ewok.

That's not fair at all. No one says that about Amari or anyone else for hitting free agency.

This is the business side of the game. I dont love how dak has handled it, but hes here for at least the next year, and should be extremely motivated to perform.

This thread is nothing more than a cheap shot.

Don't be bummed out. All working to plan. 2 years of Dak on the tag is long enough for the Nooch to get ready to step in and become the GOAT
I really wish it was that but, you probably would have a better shot at shooting a Knat off a bulls arse at 200 yards.

That's really a fair point. He signed the tag and is going to show up.

He is the starting QB for this year. Revisit in March after we know much, much more than we do now.

The level of overreaction and manufactured drama on this board never ceases to amaze me.

Evidently they can start up with talks in Jan. Prescott signed his $31.409 million franchise tender about three weeks ago and can't sign long term until January 2021

Zeke, Martin, and Cooper are or were all top 5 or better in their position (tough to rank WRs).

Dak is 9th to 11th and that is playing with a lot of great offensive talent.

The Cowboys, as an employer, won't think twice to dump Dak, Zeke or anyone else who is no longer performing at the level they deem necessary. Because it's a business. And the players should always treat it as such, because the owners do.

At least he didn't hold out while sitting on the beach in Cabo as his teammates worked their @$$ off in training camp.

And? They still were focused on themselves first and foremost over the team.

So, if Dak was a "top 5" QB, it would of been ok to test FA, or skip TC?

Players that elevate other players around them because of their play (like the few you mentioned) deserve to be paid at the highest or near the highest pay rate among their position.

That isn't the case with Dak.

He wanted Russell Wilson money and he is no where near the QB Wilson is. Dak has to have a top rb, top OLine, and a top WR to be successful. Top Qbs like Wilson and Rogers make average players look good.
