Zeke will have a 1-2 year resurgence and fall off a cliff. It is what it is

Thank god for Zeke and his blocking ability with the offensive line scrambling to get pieced together. But I think that keeping Zeke in the backfield for third down is going to force Pollard in a slot/WR role more just to get his speed and quickness in the game. This could turn out to be a good thing as it adds another WR option to a thin group of wideouts until Gallup gets back.
Positive thinking is a good thing! Lemons/lemonade

Zeke is a really good blocker but they can still create touches for pollard
Pollard and Turpin are guys who can help the quick passing game, which helps the oline. They just need the ball in their hands and they can make things happen

I think you are on to something, but K. Moore can't seem to deal with that many moving parts, it amazes me that a young guy like him can't get more creative.
Son of Jason

I actually liked most of Garrett's philosophy but one thing I never got over was how quickly he would abandon the run if they weren't gaining ten yards a carry in the first quarter.

For someone who preached process, he wasn't about to wait for the running game to develop.

During the first five games of the catastrophic 2010 season, the Cowboys ran the ball on both 1st and 2nd down only twice. The irony is that they made a first down both times but there were as many as 16 consecutive passing plays in the first half of games.

I think our current OC has some Jasonitis. He's not patient, when the Cowboys dominate on the ground he doesn't continue to run until they are stopped. This worries me for the first quarter of this season. Despite the loss of WR's and despite the issues on the O-line, I think he will continue trying

I thought there was a ban on threads about what a great blocker tubby is.

Then we probably don't need to pay an RB what Zeke gets paid...

No they don't.. But back when they decided to pay him what they paid him they WERE using him properly. It was only after they decided to become a passing team that the contract became an issue. The offensive coaching staff should have told Jerry back in 2019 not to pay Zeke because they weren't planning on using him anymore. There was a terrible failure to communicate on that deal.

We drafted Pollard to be the motion RB/WR as a *complement* to Zeke on the field, and once we found out Pollard was also a legitimate RB in his own right, we promptly relegated him to 2nd string RB status behind Zeke.

Clown Team.

The stats say Dallas needs 100 yards on the ground in order for the team to win. Back in the 90's, the stats said Emmitt needed 20 carries in order for the team to win. Every year the Cowboys won the SB Emmitt had like 340 carries.

You don't like Zeke and you think Zeke is part of the problem. A team that needs 100 yards on the ground to win and their star RB is the problem, right?

Just when I thought your train of thought couldn't get any worse, you go ahead and lower the bar even further. So maybe you can explain how a star RB is the problem on a team that needs 100 yards on the ground to win? I already know you can't explain that logically, so I don't expect a reply.

So you think Zeke is some star back? And you say we need 100 yards on the ground to win? Ill just point out two things:

1. Your hero averaged 56 yards per game last year.
2. Who said it had to be Zeke getting the 100 yards?

One little stat blew your entire long winded theory out the window.

It's funny, I was thinking that Zeke will likely get fewer carries, when Malik Davis makes the team, and gets some long runs on tape. #1. I'm not trying to be provocative
#2 Malik Davis had better not get cut, because his job should be as locked up as Turpin's.

#3. I've not reviewed Malik Davis in pass block grading, that is going to be the thing that helps him get the roster spot, and eventually makes Zeke not as necessary to play every 3rd down.

This team is not going anywhere, (running or passing), without an offensive line.

We have good TE's chip and release on the side that needs help. Again its crazy how we have been programmed to think 1 OL injury dooms a season for this franchise...its actually horrible coaching. Im not one calling for MM's head but if he sits back and doesn't make sure we scheme to help the OL I will be.

true but issue is you cant help both sides and well our TEs haven't been known to be great blockers(maybe Furgeson changes this) and while we can chip or help not just one hole along the line. hop this isnt 2020 in the making cant patch that many holes in one group. 2020 was 11 different lineups, no team can prepare for that type of loss. you just roll with it and hope you can function.

I get we have questions but this is largley the OL MM has had, He has said multiple times he was in favor of getting younger so that implies he was on board with the OL moves this offseason. I agree it may not be a top 5 line but there is no reason we cant do what other Teams have had to do and help the OL out while its missing a starter...thats all I'm saying it is frustrating to watch other teams use what they got and our team has been known to just let the LT get trucked all game and not help them.
