He has added some mass, simply to be able to withstand the amount of miles this team is going to put on him. How many times have we seen zeke just bull people over. It’s a style of running and a small frame wouldn’t work. You aren’t gonna juke you’re way to the end zone every time in the NFL. You’re gonna have to run someone over once in a while. If the team decides they want zeke to cut some weight and be that guy again I’m sure his carries would be managed a lot more. We would maybe see more screens and different type of run plays. Until then it’s pound the rock between the tackles and take what they give us. We also don’t play with the lead very much so of course we don’t effectively run the ball as well as some other teams right now. Let’s just chill on the let’s cut zeke he is done stuff....geez
Zeke has never had a “ small” frame " , ..he’s always at least been 225 pounds (per NFL combine numbers) since entering the NFL draft , and he was already “ bulling “ people over, even when he was a rookie – and opposing defenders have testified how zeke’s physical style can wear them down.
The beauty of 2016 zeke was the “
combination of vision, power and speed and blitz blocking he provided earlier on in his career.
- Maybe he’s not the most natural elusive receiver, imo, but at the top of his game, if you place him in certain designs and positions you could get that once patented quick screens for long TDs,
or a wheel route or what I've been screaming Moore to do per quick misdirection swing and flair passes - with both RBs
- ZKE was a breakaway home run threat and provided several splash big runs his first 2 years but all Garrett knows and prefers most is the 90’s style of ball. and we were pounding him into the ground since drafted.
They apparently wanted Zeke to be more of a bell cow methodical runner – but you don’t draft a guy 4th overall for just that.
You invest such high a pick for a guy that brings you a different kind of dimension and element that you didn’t have previous on your roster.
- DeMarco Murray put in an terrific bell cow performance in a single season as there ever was with any hall of famer RB we’ve ever had.
But it was clear that this club did not see him as special, as unique, and not unique threat to opposing defenses
- Adrian Peterson like Zeke was a one cut style runner that wasn't overly elusive, both an instant home run breakaway threat and a guy that could use power to break tackles, run over
and through tacklers That's whom I had often compared Zeke too as style of runner and impact.
