Zeke only got 23 touches

Professional football is the ultimate "hindsight is 20/20" game.

Yesterday afternoon it truly was a game of inches. And we were a few inches away from getting the W.

I know it sucks but I'll choose not to nitpick.

We will be back in 9 months, and our superstar rookies won't be rookies anymore, and our defense will be better because I TRUST that this organization will upgrade the right positions with the right players.

I agree Dak did fine overall. Romo didn't force INTs in the 2014 playoff vs GB so you're wrong there. Blandino cost us that one, coaching cost us this one, not Dak.

Didn't even need to be a screen. Zeke is deadly in the flat. So is Mcfadden. Where were the flare routes? Dunbar wheel route? We saved McFadden and Dunbar all season for this reason, yet we didn't even use them in the passing game in the most important game of the season.

There weren't 8 guys in the box.

And Cowboys ran same play, same formation in Week 6. GB knew exactly what was coming. That's coaching.

That's my biggest issue. If you're going to throw, why do they always go empty back sets? It just tells the defence you're going to pass every time... Why not keep Zeke back there to keep the LBs honest?

I just don't get it man. You barely used him in the 2nd quarter all season and rested him for the last 6 quarters in the regular season for this? 23 touches? Do we need to go over Zeke's history in big games at Ohio State.....

Linehan was wretched yesterday.

Dak had the best playoff performance by a Dallas QB since Troy Aikman. Dak had 3 TD passes, Romo hasn't done that...I believe I read Romo hasn't even had 300 yards passing in the playoffs. That is not all on great defenses either, he has made poor decisions and he has taken awhile to get into rhythm in some playoff games. Even in 14, he was solid but our offense wasn't overly impressive playing Detroit or GB.

No disrespect towards Romo but he's never proven to be elite in the playoffs.

Also the "dropped interceptions" argument is lame. Aaron Rodgers played lights out, we all agree but he could've easily had 3-4 interceptions if not for drops or players not locating the ball. Lee could've had one on the bomb, Heath should have had another and Church was in a good position on a pass at well. Every game, every QB has dropped interceptions---that is why DB's don't play offense.

I am far from a Romo hater but I don't get it either. Romo has never proven to be an elite playoff QB but somehow he would've ate GB's defense up yesterday? Please...Dak very well should have put up 40+ if not for some ill advised penalties.
 
Linehan and JG needs to go back and see how ES was used in our offense in the 90s. Better yet, go back and watch how Andy Reid used Brian Westbrook.

EaGirls had a good offense with only having McNabb and Westbrook as their top tier talent.

Romo 2014 game vs GB was better, 143 rating, 79 percent complete, 0 picks, 2 tds. It was an elite performance that was even better than those stats because Blandino. Romo didn't need 300 yards in that game because he wasnt playing from behind until the end. He was practically flawless in that game. Dak balled in the 4th but was pedestrian and off target often before that.

Romo has a couple playoff wins. Come to grips with that.

With that out of the way, as has been stated already, being down early in the game made it less likely to run the ball much, til we got our heads right & got the score closer & passing was what was needed for that to happen. I do believe once the game got closer, we could have ran the ball a bit more in key situations & had better results. Oh & before the butt-hurting continues here, I thought Dak played a great game. Great enough to Win it. It's just a shame we couldn't punch the ball in the endzone on our last drive. Rodgers would have had to throw a Hail Mary at that point & I think we'd come out on top.

It's not Linehan's fault. We got into a shootout with Aaron Rodgers. That's why we lost. You don't get into shootouts with Aaron Rodgers. You impose your will on the Packers and make them play to your tone. We played catch up the entire game because Garrett was settling for FGs early and our defense couldn't stop anything.

Well, seeing how the excuse always is that Romo never has a defense and that's why he can't advance us to the next level, I don't see a 36-year-old injury-prone Romo doing any better in this game.
He didn't outduel Rodgers in 2014. I doubt he would have done so yesterday.
