Bill can be so freaking arrogant sometimes, and it just seems needless.

Hiring Matt Patricia as an OC? Nobody even liked him as a DC.

Then there was the time where Brady wanted him to draft a WR. Patriots scouts told Bill that Deebo Samuel was rated as their best WR available, but he reached for N'Keal Harry becaues he liked his college coach.

Then there was the Jonnu Smith fiasco... it just seems like he makes so many unforced errors.
Being both HC and GM is taking its toll (plus Belichick turned 71 two months ago).

The New England Patriots are a contender???

The are easily the worst team in that division.

Cody Benjamin and I definitely don't agree on how good (or not) they are.

The patriots are only a contender if they bring Brady back and Brady takes anti aging pills.

It won't be Pollard. They already said he is not that type of RB. Unless the OL becomes the OL for Emmitt and Murray, and Zeke's rookie year.

Lets just say that when it comes to RB's you are the farthest poster on the planet that should be commenting.

You are the same guy that said Pollard was nothing more than backup scat back type. You also claimed Zeke is still a top 5 RB just last year.

I highly doubt they will give Pollard all the GL carries, but he will get his fair share and do fine with it. Its not like Zeke was great at it the last few years. Pollard has the ability to bounce it outside AND pound it up the middle with power.

I would love to see them mix up those kind of duties up with all the backs. Leupke would be a great guy for that.

He and Parcells are a lot alike although Parcells at least has a great personality. Parcells wanted no part of Terry Glenn, called him She! Parcells drafted Carpenter, was it a favor? Imo players would rather play for Parcells than Belicheck. Brady made those Pats teams!

I did not get past your first line as usual.
I do know better than you though.

It would actually be a good fit. BB loves a committee and he would definitely find a role for Elliott. And if he can be productive in the passing game, he might be very busy.

..how's that for Xtra gravy on the mashing tatos? Pats looking to ink in 1yr $5 mill deal with Zeke.

Scoop: Zeke
Belichick is good at doing one thing. Putting players in the position to do what they do best. Not try to get them to do what they can't do. If the Patriots sign Zeke, he'll be a blocking fullback. At this point in his career, he's not doing much else.

If those numbers are anything close you don’t pay a blocking FB 5 million dollars. It will be interesting to see how much money he ends up getting and what kind of workload he’ll have considering that.

True, but the reality is he is sub .500 W-L since TB12 walked away.
He was even worse before TB12 got there. Not to mention getting fired from Cleveland. He is a fine coach but there are thousands of fine coaches. There is only one TB12.

...Im wondering who's going to run our goal-line 2 yd TD's this year? ..;)..
If we can’t punch the ball in from 2 yards out it’s bound to cost us some games. Those 4th and one plays McCarthy likes going for can also become a big issue if we struggle to push the pile.

Got this link from PFF in my inbox today and clicked on it.

It was an article about the best backs in the NFL and how they performed in various situations. Imagine my surprise when I read this:

"Dallas Cowboys grinding it out in the red zone: The Cowboys generated positive EPA on 46.5% of their red-zone rushes to lead the NFL. Ezekiel Elliott moved the chains on 41.0% of his attempts, the best rate among the 31 qualifying backs."

How can a guy who we are assured is completely washed, useless, bad at football and all other crap posted here, be the BEST CHAIN MOVER IN THE GAME! Not top 20, not top 10, not even top 5.. Numero Uno. He was also the #2 rated red zone back in the league.

How is this possible?

I await the wise counsel of the group...

(edit) Maybe that's why Belichik is interested. He knows the value of moving the chains and punching it in when you get close. Most smart coaches do.
