Zeke is a great teammate but I feel like a change of scenery might be what he needs. Seems like things have run their course in Dallas. The production isn't there anymore he looks below average
I still think he could look decent but it would have to be the perfect scenario of a situational back with a good line. He’s not going to get that here. Sucks that his career was wasted here, but his time in Dallas should be over

Lol, I bet he does

Unfortunately Jerruh and his Offspring might just be dumb enough to grant him his wish

He lives in the lap of luxury in Dallas. Of course he wants to stay.

Why can't he get that here? I don't want to keep him but he certainly could be a situational back behind a good line in Dallas in 2023.

The problem with Zeke isn't anything around him. It's him. He was once great and rapidly declined to his current state of shot.

Zeke's base salary is $10.9m for next year. That's not including his pro rated bonus. The NFL franchise tag for RB's is like $10.2m.

Its difficult to really wrap your mind around how overpaid he is.

With all of this said, he could save the team more money by taking a lower salary than by cutting him. If he were to take a base salary of $2m or something, it might make some financial sense.

Lol like he had a choice in taking a pay cut.

He’s hanging on by a thread which is exactly what I would do if I was a professional athlete. You would have to frag me off the field.

Can't link it but Gehlken just tweeted that according to a source Zeke wants to stay and is willing to take a pay cut.
He said this in his postgame interview last night. The video is on the Cowboys website...I thought you could tell he was "wondering" about his future.

Nooooooooo! He is no longer a NFL RB period, no team will pay him after we cut him

I don't care if it vet min...we good.

Unless he wants to play short yardage/FB.

We need to move on and draft a young stud back. This has held us back more than anything.
Not more than anything.

Our trash QB who’s paid to be elite and elevate those around him has held us back more than anything.

Zeke is 2nd on that list.

Have to surround this QB with better skill position talent. Keeping Zeke, keeping Schultz or replacing him with Ferguson isn't going to get it done.

Zeke is still a valuable goal line, short yardage, and blitz pickup back. He's not the go-to guy anymore but there is a place for him on this team.
If he gets cut I doubt anyone signs him. He provides nothing a rookie can't do better for a fraction of the cost.
