yes all of them will have THIER Hands out when contract time comes up.. its part of the system..

Elliot had great 3 years in row, period end of story, they tried to stick and unfair tag on him and use him up and throw him away.. he got paid and others who got paid around the same time IE Bell, Gurley, Johnson, and others.. Zekes outperforming them? the one year wonders above him will get paid when they are due/.. Cook has less leverage because guess what he was hurt his first 2 years , now what hes doing well one season and hes a savior..F no hes not ...Prove it over 3-4 years not getting hurt and staying on top, BTW Cook had 3.8YPC sunday against our bad defense, he was more of pass threat, not Zekes fault Moore and garett dont know how to Use Zeke and Pollard as pass threats..Zekes done that so far and all those jumping on him because he got paid is sad state of affairs as DC fans as Zekes a home grown drafted player that has already proven himself here..hes plays for us , real fans cheer their players on , not every chance they get to rip them apart..

Get real people those backs will also get paid and also regress some as they get the miles put on them.Last season it was supposed to be Tereke(chi), Kamara, and that kid from Denver were better..

where are they now?each year it will change the backs who can PROVE it over a long time and be able co back those are the keepers..Zeke will be fine..Zeke is having a down year but will most likely get 1300 yards and 10tds on the ground.. so horrible..lmao
It wasn't contract time.

Dak Prescott is far more important to the success of this team than an inconsistent runningback.

So your argument is that when the division is weak, winning the division is the same as tanking the season? lol - think about that and understand how that doesn't make one bit of sense. No definition of "tanking the season" includes winning the division. By your definition, the Patriots "tank" every season, because they always play in the worst division.

By the way, the Commanders had 9 wins that year, not 7. And that is one year out of the last 5. As for the other 4 years, in 2014 the Cowboys won he division, and the Eagles had a 10 win season. In 2016 3 of the 4 division teams had a winning record, and the 2nd place Giants had 11 wins. In 2017 the Eagles won the Super Bowl. In 2018 the Eagles were the defending Super Bowl champs, and both the Eagles and Cowboys made the playoffs. Accordingly, aside from the fact your argument didn't make sense to begin with, it wasn't even based on an accurate premise.

There is no "in between times" where they were 8-8 at best. They had a horrible 2015, but otherwise have been above .500 each of the last 5 years, and have won the division 3 times.

“Oh no, he’s only on pace for 1,400 yards!!! With Prescott passing more and having the best year of his career so far (ignore that part)!!!”

-People on this forum, panicking about something that should absolutely not be panicked about.
Yup. People should be panicking about this D.

many fans don't understand the complexities of a run game and blocking schemes, and the Cowboys desire to be a pass happy team is obvious.
First bold: o_O

2nd bold: The NFL has transformed into a passing league back in 2002. It took the Cowboys/Garrett to finally figure it out.

A deeper look suggests that Zekes payday will be a waste of precious cap dollars for the Cowboys. Positional spending at RB is on the decline. Because rushing is not nearly as important to winning games in the NFL as passing.

Yeah zeke made the right personal choice because after the way he’s played this year no way would he get that much money. I guess more players should demand big pay days while they’re on top before they start to fade.

Zeke has underachieved this season and it has a lot to do with the holdout. He’s a dynamic player that is well worth the contract. Especially when you envision that Amari will outearn him by a lot and Dak will earn twice as much with their new deals.

When can we get out of his contract and not be killed by dead money?

The only good thing about paying Zeke is that now JG can't use a Zeke hold out as a crutch. Had Zeke missed some games and we had a losing record, Jerry and JG could have used that as an excuse to extend Garrett!

add tanks already makes more..etc etc.. contracts are not for fans to worry about..

zeke is for sure the 4th best or better player on this team and is now paid like it..

we arent the only team playing top players top dollar..its part of the game ..most arent earning it..the amount of hate posts about zeke is bewildering.. hes wearing the star but fans want to rip him and wish they had someone else..

fickle *** fans for sure.. hes the least of our worries , better get that D fixed quickly because from where im sitting they are the biggest reason we havent advanced to a NFCCG outside of coaching.

Especially since his "fade" is his own choice.

Zeke's body of work was commensurate with the contract that he asked for so his holdout was strategically brilliant. That same body of work also cemented the pros vs cons regarding his playing ability i.e. powerful punishing 3 down runner, rarely fumbles, very good pass blocker, decent receiver vs upright sprinter styled runner with very limited lateral agility, poor vision, doesn't use ball manipulation or stiff arms to evade tacklers. These traits correlate to his performances from 2017 to present day, bottom line they should've moved forward with or without Zeke then franchise tagged and traded him, but the FO relinquished absolute leverage for the zillionth time, typical Jerry meandering.

Sunday night's game showed exactly why ANY player on the Dallas Cowboys should use any leverage they have to force the Joneses to pay them.
Ezekiel Elliott knew that he might struggle at times, and the history of the Cowboys under Garrett shows that, more often than not, the Cowboys will tank and someone will have to take the blame.
Garrett isn't about to, and Elliott replaced DeMarco Murray, who had been a league leading rusher since coming to the Cowboys and playing out his rookie contract.
So now it's easy to discount how good Elliott is because so many fans don't understand the complexities of a run game and blocking schemes, and the Cowboys desire to be a pass happy team is obvious.
Elliott is a star. He plays like one.
But even he can't overcome the perennial mediocrity that the Cowboys have repeatedly proven to suffer under the Garrett/Jones "Let's try this" philosophy.

But you......YOU understand the game and all its "complexities". lol

I'm old enough to remember him running over Malcolm Jenkins 3 weeks ago.

RBs tend to wilt rather quickly, that rookie year was close to 400 touches? He was great in blitz pickup the other night.

So that makes him worst 90 million of our cap space? He runs over 1 guy this year and blocks? He only has 1 run of more than 20 yards through 9 games. There have been at least 3 games this year where he wasn't the best back on the field, let alone the NFL.

He has no explosive plays. His rookie season he had 15 20+ yard runs. Even in 2017 he had his share with the suspension. It dipped in 2018 and is nonexistent this season. That's reason for concern.

He was smart to hold out because he knew he was already regressing, and that would have been the last point in time that he could get paid elite money despite not being it.
