I didnt say that. back at ya.Oh...then that makes it ok then.
He got his money before he fell off. Now set for life if he's not dumb with his money. Had he waited one more season he wouldn't have gotten paid nearly what he got. On the flip side, his contract hurts Dallas.
very true. Jerry likes the attention and media buzz of a hot negociation etc. But he caves miserably every time !!!I think itt was likely Zeke's agent who can likely take credit for knowing when to sign Zeke and Zeke was wise to listen to him. Jerry might have been even wiser not to cater to it, but Jerry isn't especially adept at contractual decisions. He and Stephen tend to get outsmarted by crafty player agents.
not all, many including me thought he was a finished and argued against it. but jerry caves and many fans are very gullible .Easily said now. At the time, Cowboys nation pleaded with Jerry to sign him. He listened!
Rooting for the player to get all he can is rooting against the team.I'm applauding the player.....not the FO.
And who the HC is and how much power he has.If I were a GM, I would never have a RB or WR on a second contract, there are just too many of them and not enough OL, who have longer careers.
I've heard Booger talk about the New England model but I wonder if he even understands it? Belichick has a formula for how much he will pay every position, including QB.
If they want to emulate what he's done, why not look at how and who he pays?
So be it......I've seen many get used up.....I'll keep rooting for the players. Some have NO idea the pain and suffering many of them go thru.....Rooting for the player to get all he can is rooting against the team.
Yup just have one great year right before your contract is up and it's wah-la back up the Brinks truck! You don't have to be very smart to get paid in Dallas.
And to his credit, he could have shut it down this year, but he didn't.....he showed pride and cajones. Many will say he shouldn't have played, blame the coaches for that, not Zeke.Easily said now. At the time, Cowboys nation pleaded with Jerry to sign him. He listened!
I root for them to be well paid. Why is it important to root for them to get 15 mil/season instead of 10 mil/season? Either is a life changing amount they can easily retire on. Why get that extra that could be used to get the team into the super bowl? That's what I don't get.So be it......I've seen many get used up.....I'll keep rooting for the players. Yep, he's not married he has no kids to feed or buy shoes for. He can't take care of his family, your family, my family at 25 mill a year, sure he can.
40 mill for a single guy is simply greedy, no way around it, and......all that endorsement.$$$$$. Let's be honest he has never been up there with the top guys so why pay him as if he were?
Get what you can....I did....and I got my assistants as much as I could. I paid some more than others, they aren't all the same. Goes for the players....if they can't afford you, move on. It's a game to us, but it's their livelihood. 3 or 4 years for most and then off to the real world.I root for them to be well paid. I myself root for the NFL players to become very rich. W/ the harm they do to their bodies, they deserve it. It's the greed of insisting on maxing out a contract that I disagree w/.
And look at it from another perspective. The money, say Z and DLaw got, where did it come from? It comes from other players' pockets.
So, when you are rooting for anyone to get a maxed out contract, you are actually rooting for other players to get less.
So, it's ok to rob others as long as you get overpaid?Get what you can....I did....and I got my assistants as much as I could. I paid some more than others, they aren't all the same.
