Is this true?
Was just watching NFL Matchup. Jaws said Zeke averages like 6 yards per run on 1st downs. He said Detroit gives up 5.6 yards per run on 1st downs. So I wonder if I heard him right on the 6 yards per carry.
And that the Dallas OL uses a double duo blocking scheme on 4-3 defenses as to where they double team block the DT's. Then let Zeke sit back, and pick a hole to run through.

Game Film experts, any thing to this ?

If this is so, I predict Zeke goes for 150 to 175, but sure would like it if he get close to 200.

On 1st-and-10+, Zeke averages 5.8 yards per carry. If you look at all 1st down plays, it drops, but that's mostly because of goal-to-go plays, where the number of yards you can gain is more limited.

Zeke will very likely be on a carry count or will only play a portion of the gane, so I don't expect this at all.

Maybe, and this probably should be the case.
However, if he has quite a few yards on those 15 carries, say they are in the 1st half, and has near 100 yards, or more, then give him another 5 to 8 carries in the 2nd half.

If he gets 175 yards, I think Garrett will let him get the rookie record against the Eagles.

That is what I am thinking. If he gets 150 to 175, then play him at Eagles, and see what happens. If he is getting good yards in the 1st half, keep him in. If not, then do not risk him.

And there is any doubt he is the league MVP?

This is in no way a shot at Dak, but I think if Romo would've played this year Zeke would've had a 200+ game already. Teams have loaded up against the run simply because they wanted to challenge a rookie QB. Even though it hasn't worked out so well for most, they'd still rather take chance with the rookie QB versus getting a certain beat down by Zeke and the OL.

I think Zeke gets his usual 22-25 carries and finishes with 130. Detroit is missing key players in the secondary which will limit their ability to load up the box. If he's able to break a long one, that total shoots up to 160+.

I know I'm stupid, but I don't get why fans actually care about rookie records.

I don't care but it is a big deal for the player to get his name in the NFL record books. Forget what the player says publicly to the media. In this case, if Zeke breaks the record, that record will probably hold for seveal decades.

If that player is a Dallas Cowboy, i want them to get any record, rookie or regular. As it irks all the other fans of other teams, that a Dallas player holds that record.

How many anti Dallas fans were hoping Emmitt did not break Walter Payton's rushing record. I bet a lot.
To have Zeke hold this rushing record, it would anger and irritate others for years.

To me it is a bragging rights thing.
