Zeke's Fumbles

It's a big deal when he's "driving this offense" and one of his fumbles came before these last 3 games. It seems people only want to talk about fumbles when you lose them.

As I said, it's not the time to call it a problem yet, but it's something tossing up a red flag and should be addressed before it really is a problem.

I agree it is at a tipping point of being an issue, I do think he got a real lesson on this one during the viking game his face showed how scared he was that he lost the ball and the cost of field position. It is a tricky edge with him as we do not want to dilute his talent. I will say look for the Giants to try and harvest some fumbles once they study this game. Have to give credit to the Vikes they are similar to the Seahawks in that every tackle is an opportunity for a turnover. Every tackle has an element of trying to strip the ball or pop it out.

This doesn't seem accurate. Just goes to show that perception and reality are two different things.

Because it's not accurate.

In the 2014 regular season Murray fumbled once every 74.8 touch. Adding the playoffs, that number lowers to once every 71 times per touch.

wth. Three tough games in 11 days can do that to any RB.It's no big deal. He is still driving ths offense.

I completely agree- wth is wrong with these people for even bringing this up!!!! At this point- no issue at all.

He had 5 regular season fumbles on 449 touches. That's 1 fumble per 89.8 touches. Adding in the playoffs it's 497 touches with 6 fumbles, or 1 fumble per 82.8 touches.

Murray's problem was simple, he lost every single fumble he had in 2014. Zeke has lost 1 fumble this year, Murray lost 5 in the regular season in 2014. That's why the perception is different.

People forget the near interceptions, they only remember when the DB holds onto the ball. It's the same way with fumbles.

Does not though stats only show fumbles that were lost not those that were fumbled but recovered?

That would mean, if so, Murray had 5 and Zeke only has 1 so far. Big difference IMO.

Of course he is fumbling...he is malnourished...we need to feed him more, as to build up his strength and stamina.....come on Scotty feed the Zeke.

Btw, zeke kind of has a big alien head like E.T. and his name is Elliott to boot........E.E. phone home

Lost fumbles are what form the perception. Zeke has lost 1, Murray lost the ball every time he fumbled in 2014 (5 in the regular season and 1 in the playoffs).

Zeke's head is like 20% too big for his body, and he's not a little dude. He'd need to be Tyron Smith sized for that melon to fit.

A great defense will do that. I know it's become foreign given our defenses lately. :D

Zeke reminds me of a ewok...

Zeke cleaned up his fumbling "issues" a while back. Was surprising they reappeared this week. Hope that's the last we see of that. That goes double for Dak.

I don't think this is a problem yet, but he has 4 on the year and 2 came in the past 5 weeks. Today's fumble could have been a devastating one and we were lucky he got back on top of it.

With all of this winning, it's easy to overlook issues like this. But he's nearly equaling the amount of fumbles Murray had in 2014 (We've got lucky we only lost one) and I'd hate for this to become an issue come playoff time.

Having said this, even some of the best backs in NFL history had fumbling issues early on. Everyone from Smith to Peterson, so it's something that can be corrected. But the coaches will have to keep on him about it so it doesn't escalate like it did for Peterson from 2007 to 2008.

Where do you get 4 fumbles. This was his 3rd. He had 2 in the 2nd game, then this game.
When was his 4th?
And he only lost 1 of those.

He fumbled in Cleveland. He had both hands on the ball, fighting for yardage and the ball popped out, it hit an offensive lineman's foot and bounced back to Zeke as he was going to the ground. The announcer never even mentioned it, and I had to look at it frame by frame to find the point where the ball was on the ground.

I believe it was a down by contact rule, and the ground cannot cause a fumble in that instance.

Pro Football Ref does say he has 4 fumbles...I stand corrected. But this happens quite often too with many plays.

The mystery fumble. The ball was out of his hands for less than a second and I never noticed it live.
