only worry warts are concerned over that fumble. Zeke is not a fumbler. If you want to worry about people fumbling the ball on our team you should worry about Dak, Lucky, Dez, Witten, Williams, Butler, Those guys are more likely to fumble the ball quicker than Zeke, for many different reasons., but they want because they do not carry the ball as much, now Dak handles it more than Zeke.
It is not an issue

He had 5 regular season fumbles on 449 touches. That's 1 fumble per 89.8 touches. Adding in the playoffs it's 497 touches with 6 fumbles, or 1 fumble per 82.8 touches.

You're right. For some reason Pro-Football Reference has his 6 fumble in the playoffs listed in his regular season stats. Go figure.

I don't think this is a problem yet, but he has 4 on the year and 2 came in the past 5 weeks. Today's fumble could have been a devastating one and we were lucky he got back on top of it.

With all of this winning, it's easy to overlook issues like this. But he's nearly equaling the amount of fumbles Murray had in 2014 (We've got lucky we only lost one) and I'd hate for this to become an issue come playoff time.

Having said this, even some of the best backs in NFL history had fumbling issues early on. Everyone from Smith to Peterson, so it's something that can be corrected. But the coaches will have to keep on him about it so it doesn't escalate like it did for Peterson from 2007 to 2008.

I remember Murray fumbling almost every game and kind of being ok with it as long as production was there. Zeke looks better than Murray and fumbles less so I am ok with current scenario.

If he becomes a consistent 1500 yard 12 TD back for the next five years, a few fumbles will simply be a footnote to a great career. Not an issue at this time.

Yes......7,500 yards and 75 TDs after 5 years definitely has a nice ring to it!!

I'm not overly concerned because I know Zeke will continue to work hard on his game and continue to look to improve as a player.
I totally agree. A couple fumbles doesn't mean we should even be talking about this. I truly think we still have to see the best in Zeke. I think playoff time he's gonna lite it up!!

I'm more concerned about Dak's ball security in the pocket than Zeke's fumbles. Dak has around 7 strip fumbles now.....

I think he a little worn down with 3 games in 12 days.

Let get this break in and I think his play will improve..

The fumbles to me are mental errors on his part to protect the ball.

He either runs for yardage and run the risk of a punch or strip..

or he worries about protecting the ball and slows down a bit.

I think now they are going to try to run him for Dickerson's rookie record becuz you only have one shot at that as a rookie.

I think the OL would accept that challenge to help them keep their focus.

We'll see

Ezekiel Elliot(2016): 1 fumble every 72.8 touches
Demarco Murray(2014): 1 fumble every 89.8 touches

I have feeling at least 3-4 of DMs fumbles he lost along the sideline never got counted as he was "going" out of bounds.

Yes sometimes he forgets the rush. Though that one was a great play they DE beat free and flattened his rush and got their quicker than any one anticipated.

Fumbles Lost:
Murray: 1 lost per 147 touches

Zeke: 1 lost per 291 touches
Fumbles lost is immaterial.

History shows that no team has an innate ability to recover fumbles. It is literally random.

Unless you think Zeke has some type of fumble magic. If not using fumbles lost rather than total fumbles as some feather in the cap for Zeke is silly.

Don't be silly.
