Ziggy Ansah over Irving?

What would you guys think about letting Irving walk and using that money (plus more obviously) to make a run at Ziggy Ansah? He would give us the weak side pass rush specialist we need so bad. Use the draft to address DT and you could field a potent DL next season.

I'm honestly not sure if Ziggy is a better player, and I imagine that Irving would be half the cost.

Hasn't Ansah missed huge chunks of the last 2 seasons. Seems he would be the perfect example of who you don't go after in free agency.

that 4 game concussion probably took any potential team off the table

He also is in the league's drug pool. One more slip up and he's a 10 game suspension, I believe. That isn't going to help his value either.

WRT weak side pass rusher - we may have Gregory as an ace in the hole for 2018.

Then they have no outs.

Even better
Put a second rd tender on him and don't match it if you can get ziggy

We don't need to get into a bidding war. Tag Dlaw, 2nd tender irving and draft another DE.

I just want to see a full season of Irving as the 3Tech. I'm willing to bet he produces double digit sacks.

Absolutely not.

Irving is young and has superstar potential.

I prefer a pass rush that comes from inside and outside. An outside rush alongside a collapsing pocket is exactly what I want. The QB can't escape outside and can't step up.

Love to see them make a play for ansah.

A team with a lot of cap space will pay him though. A creative front office would be able to keep irving and lawrence and find a way to pay ansah.

it has zero chance of happening however. This team will not spend in free agency anymore.

That's what I think, too. I'd love to keep him there inside and sign a good 1T, even a T-McClain type. Doesn't have to be a Pro Bowler, but a good quality starter that can open things up for Irving and even Collins at 3T.

Yeah we definitely need a space eater at the 1 technique who can occasionally move the pocket.
