Jerry was questioning if he even wanted to coach a few weeks ago. Promoting in to HC would be an epic mistake, and I say that with nothing but respect for Zim. Good career, but go enjoy life with your 20 something year old new wife before the equipment stops working.
His fiance is 42 years old. You're mixing up his fiance with Belicheck's girlfriend, who is 24.

From what I gather, Zim was worn out after this season as DC. Can't imagine he'd want to take even more responsibility on at his age. Would absolutely welcome him back as DC, but HC is a hard no.
That's just it......he could be exactly someone willing to take a 2 year deal AND he could bring some continuity in retaining some staff members and the same defense.

How about it, name Zimmer coach, and hire a young talented play caller??
Definitely not with the retreads. Zimmer was second guessing coming back a few weeks ago. I wouldnt be mad if he came back as DC but I have my own issues with seeing that as well. New HC no retreads, no Pete, no Gruden, hell go get Moore, Id rather live with some new energy.

Heck NO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Zim looked like a defeated man, with no answers as his defense was getting smacked around by Cowboy opponents. It's time for Zim to ride off into the sunset................

And who is this good young offensive coach that is going to leave their current situation to be the OC for an almost 70 year old puppet head coach?

Zimmer would be an utter disaster and only got the DC job because no one else wanted to come here with the McCarthy situation

Valid point, and that's why I'd want him back as DC. Ideally you want some sort of continuity, especially when considering that this young, talented defense would be looking at their third scheme in three years. I just don't see a guy that's ready to lead this franchise into whatever the next era will be. He's 68, with a much younger girlfriend, and he's already on the fence about returning as a coordinator, much less as the leader of the whole operation. Tend to think bringing in a fresh new approach would be more beneficial in the long run. Gives the players a new vision to work towards and accomplish, rather than going year to year wondering what happens next.

Heck if you were going to offer a Zimmer the HC job call Lurie for permission to talk to Fangio for goodness sakes they just made the Packers look like garbage . The Packers that smacked Dallas around last playoff season .

Zimm burned a lot of bridges in Minny as HC. I get he has status here and that doesn't matter but I'd hate that hire!
