I agree. Zimmer has been given his shot elsewhere and while he's not a bad coach if he hasn't proven he can win a title in those stops, he's not likely to prove it here.

I'm for either another Super Bowl-winning coach or a coach who hasn't had the opportunity to show whether he can take a team there. Although I have doubts about Moore, I'd rather see him, another coordinator or a college coach get their shot. If we're going to retread, then retread Gruden or Cowher or Belichick or Carroll or even Pederson.

Rankings aren’t based on one game.
They went from 3rd vs the pass and league leaders in takeaways to the bottom playing passive bend don’t break instead of playing aggressively!
I gave the guy a break giving him benefit the doubt at the beginning of the season. He failed… 5th to 28th…
There’s nothing that should indicate he’s the right person to be the next head coach!

And then their starting/best LBer being out?

Then with our limited talent in safety and DT theres only so much you can do, im not saying Zims the answer but you cant expect gold out of cow patties

Probably. The Joneses are too lazy to conduct a competent hiring process. So they will just go with someone they know and are comfortable with. It will either be Zimmer or Kellen Moore.

I think it's Zimmer's job if he wants to continue to coach and Jerry will force Witten to be on his staff so he can learn from an experienced HC before taking the reins. Could also see Jerry hiring Witten as HC and surround him with seasoned coaches.

One game isn’t the sum of the whole of an entire season, even if you continue to scream shrilly and vigorously stomp your wittle foot!

Detroit has seemed to continue to do OK.

The game has passed Zimmer by… nothing to be ashamed of.. it happened to much better coaches… Landry, Shula, Knoll.
The rest of the league recognized that reality as evidenced by him sitting for 4 seasons. They gave him the benefit of the doubt… all doubt has been dispelled!

Agree. Zimmer just doesn't move the needle. Boring and safe. Just the way Jerry likes them. We'll be a 1990s team competing against 2025 opponents.
