Tomlin is not messing around, blow an assignment and you are gone.

Mike Tomlin told the rest of his team just how serious he is about improving his special teams when he cut cornerback Ricardo Colclough yesterday.
Colclough, a second-round draft pick in 2004, blew an assignment in Cincinnati that helped Glen Holt return a kickoff 42 yards for the Bengals. Apparently, Tomlin had seen enough of Colclough and cut him loose, replacing him with Anthony Madison, one of their best special-teams players as a rookie last season.

Surely he could be an upgrade over Nate.

Bring him in. We can lose Nate or That other dude whose name I can't spell.

Exactly. It wouldn't hurt to bring him in. If he didn't work out cut him. No loss.

No, he was just a 3rd string CB and hasn't done much in NFL.

If he was a 3rd stringer, then he would be an upgrade over Nate who doesn't have a string, he's just hanging on by threads......

RICARDO COLCLOUGH Position: CB
Class:
School: Tusculum
Conference: South Atlantic
Ht., Wt.: 5'10½, 194
40 Time: 4.53
Grade: 3.81

Selected by Pittsburgh SteelersRound 2, pick 6 (38 overall) BIO: All-conference and All American selection as a senior after totaling 59/11/13 while averaging 29.1 yards on 19 kick returns with two scores. Also averaged 10.1 yards on 11 punt returns with another touchdown. Junior totals included 47/4/12 with an average of 25 yards on four kick returns and 15 yards on five punt returns.

POSITIVES: Outstanding athlete with terrific size-speed numbers for the next level. Technically sound defensive back that gets off the line with a smooth backpedal and loses nothing in transition. Plays with a good degree of explosion, quickly breaks on the throw and flashes onto the scene making the play. Displays good reaction to the ball and gets vertical defending the pass. Outstanding range as well as closing speed. Aggressive run defender that wraps up ball carriers. Displays tremendous speed as a returner with the ability to run to daylight if given open space.

NEGATIVES: Started off very slowly at the Senior Bowl and seemed confused against a higher level of competition.

ANALYSIS: Possessing natural skills and football intelligence, Colclough is an outstanding small-school prospect that should fall into the top 60 picks this April. Will need time to mentally adjust at the next level but can be a starting for a team by the late part of next season.

PROJECTION: Late Second Round http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/2004/draft/players/55705.html

Bring him in! He plays special teams, looks like he even returnes kicks. It's not like he'd be a starter. What about the other guy we brought in from the Ravens? I think he's gotten a few plays but is he better than Nate?
