;) Trade JJ to a team for a very good starting CB that can help us win the Super Bowl. Everyone knows we will not resign him and it is better to get something in return.

Barber needs to start and Thompson is a good relief player......

What do you Zoners think?

Is this a STUPID idea? :bang2:

what team is dying to pick up an average back for their "very good starting CB".

Just gonna have to ride Julius out this year and wish him the best. I have no problem doing that.

I've got no problem with the rotation but Barber should start and, Julius is still a good threat coming off a screen or out of the backfield.

I agree Cbz40, that is why Ireland gets the big bucks......maybe, some team in a similiar situation with a CB.....last year of contract, talented, but is not worth the $$$$$ the CB believes he is worth and the team DOES NOT intend to resign him.

No team is going to give us much for Jones cause they know he's a FA next year. Now right before the trade deadline a desperate team might need a player and give us a decent back but no way will any team give up a valuable commodity like a CB.

Also disagree with you description of TT. Frankly if TT was that good in the backfield, the Cowboys would have somehow found some playing time for him. I think at this point the Cowboys just don't want to rock the boat.

we already have two very good sarting CB's...one is hurt right now, but he will be back

there is no reason to trade Julius Jones...Barber's never been a fulltime back, I dont want to compromise a potential deep run in the playoffs trying to FIND OUT if he's a FT RB...he could wear out or get injured, and then we are screwed

Yea, I guess what I really want is more playing time for Barber!

Take the Wash/Denver trade--Portis for C.Bailey...........I think its become clear around the league that a CB is a more "skilled" position than RB. It takes a very, very special Rb to compare to a just a very good CB........

Denver goes thru RB's like toilet paper....they are able to plug em' in and go

The NFL rules regarding no contact after 5 yds have made the CB position worth gold

I remain unconvinced. Watching in preseason he still has no wiggle. If we were to trade Julius and go with MBIII/Thompson at RB we would be a much weaker team IMHO.

The way Marion Barber runs i'd hope we wouldn't be dumb enough to put all of our eggs in that basket.

Good point. Every time I watch him run I hold my breath waiting for that broken ankle.

I hear you but the problem is we are one injury away from a one back system, I mean thats why we need a cb and a nt, we might have two now, but one may get hurt, honestly we have been on a role, neither has missed any games...

you coulf get a good cb for jj
you can't afford to hurt your depth for anything less
we are who we are and we will just have to get by with who we have

Not a stupid idea at all. But, I suggest that JJ should be traded to the Chargers for Turner. Then, Turner and Barber could start together!
