-After watching AON, I'm pretty convinced that Garrett will at least coach out his contract. I'm also convinced that if he'll get an opportunity somewhere else if fired. I'll admit he came off really well behind the scenes. He checks a lot of boxes (image wise) so I do believe another GM/owner will give him a shot down the road.

-It was cringeworthy watching Stephen/Jerry sit in on coaches meetings. I promise you the assistant coaches that were let go at the end of the season will not miss that part of the job.

-Most impressive group was the oline group. They seem like the most professional/tight-knit group to me. I enjoyed the scene of Dak and Collins fishing. Collins seems like a jovial type of dude.

-Least impressive was the WR room. I can tell that there are a bunch of followers in that room. Dooley is a push over. I've been pushing for them to get a vet like Boldin or Garcon over the years. I think that would have helped bring some maturity to that group.

-Really hope we find a way to get Earl Thomas. The team is in need of some dynamic leadership IMO. Someone that can take the best from Dez and the best from Sean Lee. I can't take Byron Jones seriously as a leader. Goof was cheesing while Dez and Lewis were going at it. I've seen those young DB's (Lewis, Chidobi, and Woods) a few times at the gym this offseason. I think these boys are prime to take it to the next level but a Earl Thomas/Malcolm Jenkins type of leadership.

-I thought Zeke looked really poor throughout. I don't think the drama is over with this guy for his career.

-I wish Charlotte was the future owner of this team. She seems like a warm caring person who knows how to get **** done.

-Keep Sean Lee happy. He will be needed 10-15 yrs from now as a coach.

The assistant coaches were more of baby sitters then coaches. The RB coach was letting Elliot show up late. WR coach was letting Dez dictate to him. Lol. That crap wouldn’t fly with me. I would have plenty of tape in all my guys showing there mistakes and how to get better from the beginning instead of that open forum atmosphere.

You're absolutely right about Garrett... It doesn't matter what happens this season, he'll be given the chance to coach out his contract.

Jerry already has his built in excuses.

They can and will be any of the following, or combination of them, or all of them.
Too many coaching changes.
Change of philosophies on O and maybe even D.
Too many player turnover, Dez and Witten are now gone, waiting for players to step up, it may take a few years.
Team is young and still learning the "process".

For 2019 season...if Rod leaves...DC change, the new needs to get involved and on board with the "process".
Other possibilities, trying to replace Witten, and Dez, though many will say he won't be missed, but that will not stop Jerry from using it.
I am sure others will come up next off season.

others?

What does Zeke do that is so bad? I must be missing it.

You guys watch a show and get all nit picky about a few certain things but football is a grind. A season is a marathon so you're not going to get complete professionalism from a 21 year old at all times.

IF you think other teams don't go through the same thing with young players you're mistaking.

Zeke isn't a leader on this football team by any means so don't get all caught up in the little nit picky things.

If you hate Dez you probably hate Zeke too.

I didn't have a problem with the WR's either. I did have a problem with Dooley and Garrett. I do not like how they went at Dez when Dez got down on himself and they tried to baby him through it.

Jordan Lewis was better then anyone at getting Dez to respond positively. The coaches should've taken note of that. The juice is good.

Because that is the way many of our fans are. Well people in general about anything and everything.
It is far easier for people to nitpick and stuff, rather it meets their views or not. Mostly when it does not. Than it is to praise something. They will find one little things and twist it out of context.

You rarely see someone taking a minor detail and make it out to be so positive that it will change the team.

Unless that player is Darrius Jackson of course.. May get the same with our 6th and 7th round picks this year as well. :muttley:

If a player is late one time, then they are forever late to everything. If. player is out having a few beers, he is therefore a drunk and not a team player. If a player takes a vacation, or does a rap album in the off season, as opposed to studying film, he is a bum, not a team player.

I want to thank the Jones family for allowing us this intimate glimpse into how our favorite organization is run behind the curtains. I'm only on episode 2 but it is so riveting... If I didn't have plenty of hunny do things to handle this past weekend, I would have binge watched the whole thing.

Comparing Dez and Zeke isn't fair to Zeke. When JG pulled Zeke aside to let him know he to go hard in practice and not coast through it, he turned it up.

To me Zeke is immature and needs to be pushed to excel at times, but Dez is just stubborn and over emotional.

Dooley couldn't even say that a CB they were facing was a good player without him getting emotional and going on a rant. Completely unproductive and a total distraction.

It is great to be passionate, but Dez crosses the line, lets it take over him and become a negative.

Zeke needs to be coached. There are players like that especially at his age. I think its somewhat unfair to judge him based on how he's acting. Sure Dak comes off as more moature but they are ad different makeup and come from completely different background.

For whatever reason people don’t seem to want to acknowledge that Zeke was going through 1 hell of a situation that was really out of his control. Especially for a 22/23 year old kid. Expecting him to be a robot and having his full focus on football is unrealistic.

While Dez was/is obviously immature, I thought Dooley looked and acted like a high school coach and had no shot in that WR room. Not a surprise he went back to college.

And on an unrelated note, I thought Bisaccia looked like the only true “leader of men” of the entire coaching staff. He’ll be missed

Zeke was in the leadership council meeting in the final episode so the coaches view him as a leader.

Zeke looked half asleep the whole time. Also didn't come off very appreciative to Jerry. He's young but so is Saquon Barkley - a guy with incredible intangibles.

Jerry is 10 times the distraction that TO or Dez could ever be. Watching that show reminded me of the show intervention, where there is always that mentally weak parent who keeps giving the kid drug money, because they feel bad for them....

Garrett is definitely an great coach image wise. Unlike his nuthuggers I can be honest. I still don’t think he came across well, in fact I think the complete opposite. I already knew he could talk with the best of them. I never saw him giving any valuable instruction to players about things they could do. No x and o talk. And before someone says they can’t record x and o talk that’s bs. Plenty of coaches micd up have been recorded talking strategy and things that they see. Garrett only sees fight, finish, no excuses or explanation, compete, etc.

Agree 100 about everything else

Great stuff gang! Although I've not exerted(read that as won't) the effort to peruse the visual enjoyment of this insightful gem into this franchises 'innards' ,I do value the feedback of my highly esteemed fellow members observations,,,

Dez is gone! No we can go all the way! I think we’ll end up loving this season.

I'm not saying he's some great Xs and Os coach or anything of the sort, but what do you think they talked about in the coaches meetings? I doubt the team would let much of that out if it was taking place. It was a TV show. You can take thousands of hours of film and make it say whatever you want it to say - whatever makes a better storyline on TV might not be a 100% reflection of the truth.

It all goes back to the HC
Can't be all rah rah and players friend
Gotta be a hardass sometimes
Enforce discipline
Garrett doesn't have it

The proof is in the fact that we ran the same offense this year that we did last year not taking into account that Dak isn’t Romo and teams would adjust to Dak. If they were talking x and o it wasn’t anything good. The results showed that

I am not concerned that Jerry and stephen sat in on coaches meetings. What I'd like to know is what they took in from those sessions. Did they see a group of assistants that just nodded like bobble heads or substantive thoughts from them. Did they see guys giving legitimate input or guys just happy to get a paycheck.
