Are you up or down on O this season?

To me, he has way more potential than most think. It's just a matter of putting him in the right scenarios. Makes me wish Dan Quinn was here.

First thing is first, he has to rehab his injury and be physically ready. But if anyone can come back from this injury, it's Overshown.
Why would you say that? From what I'm reading, everyone thinks he's really good. What's the potential you're referring to?

yes. and I am also down on Overshown. the use of only O threw me off as I am mad at this team in every which way.

and O, after second major, major surgery. he has been on the bench more games than has played. doesn't sound good. doesn't look good. has potential to be a decent starter, but can't stay healthy
So, just asking, do you typically post from only the title, or do you ever read the content?

Mid currently but ask again after the draft. After Luka trade Mavericks are now dead to me so all I got are Cowboys, Stars and Rangers to root for. Mavericks are a good reminder that it can always be worse. ;)

not typically. but this one was done in haste. I was on my phone waiting in line.....

but unlike most, when I make a mistake, I readily admit. most around here tend to just dig in and argue, and make a 18 page thread....

with that said, correcting my original response that Overshown (not O, as ou kind of were getting cute there) is not going to be the same. too many injuries early in his career and these are major major injuries. it will rob him of his quickness and agility, which is a major part of his game.

I'm hoping Overshown works tirelessly with the weights to improve his strength and durability. His propensity for being injured needs to be given attention to avoid being vulnerable to them. I think his lack of muscular development might be a contributing factor in having those issues.

Could be diet to some degree. Hoping that may have changed now that he's ballin in the NFL.

Really great kid. Really tough injury. Three layers to this recovery:

1. Physical recovery to being able to play football again and take the field

2. Physical return back to his pre-injury ability

3. Mental recovery to where he is playing fearless again

For me, #1 is realistic at some point this season. #2 might never happen— every player and every injury is different. I do believe Overshown will do the work and has the faith to overcome the obstacles.

But #3 is a big question mark. We just won’t know where he is at until he is back on the field. Gonna be a long road ahead.

Better to prepare for tough news and be pleasantly surprised than expect a miracle recovery and be disappointed he isn’t back to form this year

Thats understandable.

As many others have already posted I am rooting and hoping for a pre injury type return to playing.

But I am also aware of the extreme physical and mental challenges he will have to overcome.

So with that said I guess I'm down in what my mind thinks will happen but my heart continues to hope the best for the kid.

Because he's not dead?
well, no, but I think you know what I mean. He has a laundry list of injuries throughout his career and as much as I want the kid to succeed, exactly how can he come back and be effective? That is why I said give him at least a year off, why on earth next season?
