Bucky Brooks's top five 2025 DT prospects

If Osa ends up being too expensive, Kinlaw could be a less expensive option. He played for Whitecotton last season, stayed health starting all 17 games, and saw an uptick in all of his stats from his previous season in San Fancisco. Then in the draft they could take someone like Nolen and put him in the rotation and give him time to develop.

Sacks
Kinlaw 4.5
Odighizuwa 4.5

TFL
Kinlaw 5

Could be, I tried to look up the FA contract projections but I don't subscribe to PFF. The stat I didn't post was QBHits which was quite a bit higher for Osa 23 vs. 5 for Kinlaw. I thought it was possible that might lower the price for Kinlaw.

He made $7M this past season with the Jets. I don't see him getting much more on a new deal. Either way, he will be an easy sign IMO. I like that he started 17 games for the first time in his career. BTW..wonder if the Jets played him as a 1 Tech. I asking coz his stats are low for almost 700 snaps.

Not sure about 1T but one thing about it, Whitecotton would definitely have the inside scoop. The other thing is if they did end up taking Nolen, Lance currently has him graded as a year one starter which means he thinks he could come in and be a quality starter as a rookie. If that's the case they could start Nolen right a away and sign another DT to the rotation.

Kinlaw played next to Quentin Williams, so my guess would be Kinlaw played 1T or they were interchangeable, which, is how Eberflus played his DTs last season.

Like Baldy said, I hope Dallas is aggressive at iDL by double dipping early. Mazi should be fighting for a spot in the rotation let alone a starting spot.

Dallas should get that 3T in the 1st since that's the key position for Eberflus's Defense.

Gotta look past the sacks…Kinlaw isn’t in the same tier as Osa.

-1st Amongst Defensive Tackles in QB Hits

-Top 3 in QB Pressures Amongst Defensive Tackles..

-Top 3 In Pass Rush Win Rate Amongst Defensive Tackles

Here is in lies my problem........not a single ranking here helps our run issues. In fact, looking at our 2024 Dline....( Parsons, Osa, Smith and Kneeland) who was the best run defender? What I'm saying is we don't need the type of game Osa brings to the table, we already have that, ( Parsons, Sam Williams, Mazi, ). We need an elite 1 tech/NT........

No he's not but my idea is to rotate him with a high draft pick. If they did draft Nolen it's conceivable that he could have even a better year than Fiske who was drafted in the second round last year and ended up with 8.5 sacks, 44 tackles, 10 TFL, and 10 QBHits. And according to PFF 40 hurries and 51 pressures. All that after starting only 8 games.

No Michigan players. They have not worked out for us lately, yet.
Lewis was the last successful UM player.
Taco the worst.

Still waiting on a few others though.

Chauncey Golston probably was the best run defender at DE logging:
36 solo (12th in NFL)
14 assist (9th in NFL)
30 stops (19th in NFL)
* according to PFF
This is why I have a problem signing Osa at $20-25M. We will STILL need a top run-defender coz Mazi Smith ain't it.
