Bucky Brooks's top five 2025 DT prospects

This is a good draft to rebuild our DT room. You dont even need to take one at 12. You can get a day 1 contributor, maybe even a starter, at 44. There are also alot of DT's that could be strong role player deep into day 3. Some guys that may be quality 4th DT's as rookies
For once hopefully the Cowboys use the board to its advantage. Trade down get at least another 3rd. Draft a receiver and use the day two picks on running back/defensive line.

Tyliek is powerful, he just pushes guys into backfield all game, and he's athletic enough I'd consider him at 3T along with Nolen and Harmon.
I see your Tyleik Williams early (if Nolen is gone) and try to pair him later with JJ Pegues (Nolen’s teammate) - another guy that played 1T/NT, but has 3T quicks and tendencies. 2 320lb. 3T’s seems like the way to go in today’s NFL.

Good call. There's an opportunity for teams to scrap the typical NT/3T model and have 2 DTs around (6'3 320) who are interchangeable and this is the draft to do that.

If Osa ends up being too expensive, Kinlaw could be a less expensive option. He played for Whitecotton last season, stayed health starting all 17 games, and saw an uptick in all of his stats from his previous season in San Fancisco. Then in the draft they could take someone like Nolen and put him in the rotation and give him time to develop.

Sacks
Kinlaw 4.5
Odighizuwa 4.5

TFL
Kinlaw 5
Odighizuwa 5

Tackles
Kinlaw 40
Odighizuwa 47
I can’t see them even sniffing at Kinlaw. First he’s a 1tech, so not exactly a replacement for Osa regardless. Second, he’s exactly what they’ve made a point of avoiding and afraid of in FA. An underachieving, injury prone 1st round draft bust who 2 teams have or are going to have washed their hands of. Even in a contract year he was only able to force 30 pressures while playing next to one of the league’s premier 3techs in Quennin Willams. His 53 overall PFF score and 50 run defense grade would lead one to surmise his uptick in sacks were most likely from pressure from teammates flushing the QB to him and not actually rush he created!

I don’t think we will be a Super Bowl threat next season so my idea would be to build the team using the strength of the draft. A front 7 with Parsons, Osa, Gholston, two early draft picks, Sam, Mazi, would be a top 10 front four. Especially with one of the rookies, Sam, and Mazi rotating. Maybe our defense by December will be formidable like Rams defense was at the end of the season especially with Overshown and Diggs returning by then.
I’m with you…would absolutely love to see us turn this front 7 into a dominant unit. If we resign Osa and hit on a 1T and a WILL LB…let’s go!

Perfect draft to do this and might even have the ability to trade down get an extra 3rd and pick Grant/Harmon. We need a defensive line draft in the worst way. Remember Parcells did this with Ware, Spears, and Canty. One of the best drafts we ever had.

No Michigan players. They have not worked out for us lately, yet.
Lewis was the last successful UM player.
Taco the worst.

Still waiting on a few others though.
Graham is a stud...he could have any college helmet on and still be a stud.

I do not think we have a chance to get him but if he falls to twelve you run that card up there and celebrate like we did when CeeDee fell to us.

I'm totally on board with this.

Imagine trading down and picking up a 3rd like last year. Coming away with a RB, WR and 2 DT's in the first 3 rounds.
More and more I am thinking unless one of the top five on your board has lasted until the 12 pick try and trade back.
If we could get four like that it would be an excellent draft

i don't know man, that actually sounds like exactly what they've made a point of pursuing.

I also like Caldwell from Oregon as the 1T that has really good quickness to go with his good to really good power. EXCELLENT size (6'2", 342 at the Senior Bowl which means he could try to get down to 330 and improve his quickness, yet maintain his power).

Absolutely, Sir! I like Caldwell too. I like watching Oregon's DL, still gonna checkout Burch.

6'2 330 w/ some more quickness would be a good look for Caldwell, and I agree he should be able to keep most of his power.
