Bucky Brooks's top five 2025 DT prospects

I’m 100% onboard taking Harmon at 12. I see shades of Dexter Lawerence which is the type of force we need at DT.

Re-signing Osa and doing nothing else at DT would be unacceptable.

Re-signing Osa and drafting Harmon would be impactful.
Agree 100%......we have to sign/draft a very good run defender to pair with Osa.

We drafted this guy with almost next to nothing college production which has carried through to the pros.

Miss me with the NT don’t produce big time stats alibi too. Mazi did barely enough to register a crooked number in the stat sheet.

I don't know what the Rams are doing but they seem to hit on a lot of draft picks including later gems like Nakua.
Verse, Young, Fiske, Turner might be in the conversation for best front 4 in football next year and they are all 26 or younger.

Rams went from “F those picks” and winning a Super Bowl, to putting on a master class in drafting. Must be nice to have a good GM…

Do you mean GM is willing to roll up his sleeves and work???? LOL

Yeah, well they can have that, but nobody is more fiscally responsible than us bro.

Not a bad recovery after losing Donald.

Here is in lies my problem........not a single ranking here helps our run issues. In fact, looking at our 2024 Dline....( Parsons, Osa, Smith and Kneeland) who was the best run defender? What I'm saying is we don't need the type of game Osa brings to the table, we already have that, ( Parsons, Sam Williams, Mazi, ). We need an elite 1 tech/NT........
Need both
To have a great defense, interior strength is a must
Sign Osa/Kinlaw and Gholston
And draft 2 DTs or a DT and a DE in top 3
Take RB in rd 2
Take another RB and LB in rds 5-7

Have to spend in FA at WR and LB

Now you have the semblance of a competitive team

Yea - Osa is average against the run…but it’s easier to find a run clogger than a guy with as much pass rush production as him.

Re sign him, sign a vet run clogger and then draft 2 DTs and flourish.

Harmon is one of my guys…absolute stud that is good against the run and pass.

Might be a slight reach but after Hunter, Graham and Carter are gone I think you can lump a lot of these guys into that 10-20 range as prospects.

I’d love to trade down and add a 3rd bc I still think you’d have a great chance at Harmon or Nolan.

Walter Nolen is polarizing . Some people really like him at 12 ( me ) some don’t like him until round 2
I think those 2nd round projections will change. Especially after the Senior Bowl. I think after the combine he will be full into the top 15. Alot of people had Aaron Donald as a 2nd round guy before the Senior Bowl

I would draft two defensive linemen with two of our first 3 picks and bring back Osa/Gholston. The deepest tackle class in years. Time to take advantage of that.
This is a good draft to rebuild our DT room. You dont even need to take one at 12. You can get a day 1 contributor, maybe even a starter, at 44. There are also alot of DT's that could be strong role player deep into day 3. Some guys that may be quality 4th DT's as rookies

Just me, but I think one of Nolen/Harmon is going to go top 15. Which one depends on either certain teams or flavors

The most important stat to me for college DT’s (in my opinion) is TFL’s. Tell me a guy is making plays at OR behind the LOS and I’ll show you a guy worth drafting and developing.

It’s possible for sure. Another DT prospect I like that I think has been slept on is Tyleik Williams (Ohio State).

Yeah but you know Cowboys will never do that
If they sign Osa you can forget about a DT in 1-3 rds
I don’t think we will be a Super Bowl threat next season so my idea would be to build the team using the strength of the draft. A front 7 with Parsons, Osa, Gholston, two early draft picks, Sam, Mazi, would be a top 10 front four. Especially with one of the rookies, Sam, and Mazi rotating. Maybe our defense by December will be formidable like Rams defense was at the end of the season especially with Overshown and Diggs returning by then.
