It's about having a conscience

I didn't really consider this perspective but I do agree with it. Jerry does not consider the fans much. But again, Jerry bought the team to be his play thing. If he can't play with it, he won't want it. Using the race car analogy, he bought a race car so he could drive it. He is not going to hire a driver to drive it for him. Its not about winning races, it is about driving the car. Perhaps if fans just stopped paying attention to him, stopped going to games, stopped buying Cowboys merch, he would change his mind, but I don't think so. Jerry enjoys being the GM, the guy in charge, the guy they come to with microphones and cameras in hand. The questions about losing bother him but he just deflects them with long winded incoherent comments now - and, he grow more defiant.

Only time will remove Jerry from his toy. Then we will have to see how Stephen and the rest of the family respond to losing and the fans.
 
Jerry has always been about making this "Jerry Jones's Cowboys". he got rid of Jimmy and figured he could build this thing into a winner, then everybody would call it Jerry's Cowboys.
well, guess what? He's been an epic failure, and I'm hoping the fanbase, media, and everybody else turns on him like never before.
 
The deal with the race car is you don't just buy a top fuel car like Don garlits dragster and jump in it and race you got to have a license and prove you're qualified to do it. Unqualified people driving a race car could get people hurt other drivers the fans just the money doesn't get you in the game.

Conversely if you can buy the Dallas Cowboys you can put yourself at any position you want whether you're qualified or not.

If you're not qualified to do the jobs no one gets hurt physically and obviously Jerry does not care about the emotional drain his lack of qualification has on the fan base

I live in the Philadelphia area and yes they can be a horrible god-forsaken group of people but they love their football team and their owner loves the fan base and he knows what it means to them and strives to put the best team on the field at all times.
We've seen him make mistakes Chip Kelly Carson Wentz but the guy picks up starts from scratch and retools and creates winning teams because he doesn't quit on his fan base and sell out for just his own profit.

Jerry on the other hand has no conscience and quit on his fan base long ago to pursue strictly his own material gain at the expense of his fan base and City and it's really that simple He's just never going to do what's necessary to get us over the top.

It's always going to be some half-assed effort that makes him the most money and gives the fan base false hope strings us along and just dangles the carrot in front of our nose.

The man is a carnival Barker with the morals of an alley cat that has ruined America's team and will continue to take advantage of our loyalty to the star and use it to his advantage and his family after him will do the same thing that's where we're at as Cowboys fans

We are at the mercy of a billionaire who treats us like peasants from a medieval time period.

Conscience deals with feeling guilty over doing something morally wrong. Can you please tell me what he has done that is morally wrong that has impacted your ability to be a fan?

I'm not defending Jerry but just because his definition of all-in does not match your expectation doesn't mean he has lied to you. I believe in his mind he thinks winning is important. He is doing what he thinks he needs to do to win. I don't think he is going down the right path but I don't think he intentionally lied to you

No he's not. He admitted a few years ago that he'd have been fired long ago as GM if he weren't the owner.

So he knows his way isn't the best way to win, but he doesn't care. He's going to be in charge of those socks and jocks no matter what, just because he wants to.

He is doing what he thinks needs to be done to make more money.

Winning in Forbes > winning on the field
 
Nothing would make me happier than seeing totally empty stadiums on game days. I know it will never happen, but it's the only thing that would get Jerry's attention.

I agree with the no morals thing, but the wives aren't totally blameless. They tolerate the infidelity, and maybe even encourage it because of how much money the family has. They allow anything to keep the money on their side
 
Yes my cowboy Brothers after watching the eagles build make mistakes with Chip Kelly rebuild again beat the Patriots in an absolute shootout where nobody even punted with their backup quarterback then watch them recognize the mistake with Carson Wentz draft Hurts and rebuild again all while we just bask in mediocrity making an art form out of staying three to four players away from being able to really compete.

We stand absolutely no chance of seeing a Super bowl with Jerry Jones

All true, except it's not about money. It's about massaging his own ego and doing whatever he wants no matter what. It's about playing w/ his toy however he wants and it's about working w/ his family, as he stated himself.

If it was about money, he'd employ a GM, as winning in the playoffs would bring in even more money. He loses money by insisting on being the GM. It's about ego, and self love, period.

Love the carnival barker thing!!! Exceedingly accurate!!!

Nope. All he cares about is himself. Winning super bowls would bring in even more money, it's not about money at all anymore, it's about extreme narcissism. It's about establishing himself as a football great in his own mind, and he's so self involved he doesn't even realize that ship has long ago sailed.
