Step One in having a great off-season plan

He'd better come up with a contractual agreement that appeals to the C'boys' FO. That means his asking price had best be very affordable. The Dallas FO isn't disposed to paying anything but bargain contracts. Sad but true. His talent level doesn't necessarily match their willingness to pay what he'll want. Got any idea what he expects?
No, but they can sign him if they want and they should want him.

There is an old saying in the NFL: Championships can be won or lost in the off-season. We saw that last season with the mystifyingly bad off-season we witnessed with our Cowboys vs the aggressive, targeted moves of the egirls. Before you can have a great off-season you must have a great plan.

The first step the Cowboys need to do this off-season is decide what kind of team they are trying to build. In fantasy football the focus is acquiring the best skill position players available. In real football it’s all about knowing what kind of team you want to build. You must have outstanding player talent evaluation of your current roster and what kind of talent is needed to fill the holes you have.

So what kind of team are we supposed to be building?
  • Is this supposed to be a finesse/speed team on both sides of the ball?
  • Is it supposed to be a smash-mouth physical team that can run the ball and stop the run?
Those are just two simple examples at both ends of the spectrum. Obviously there are many more styles. Honestly, I don’t know what kind of team our FO has been trying to build. That must be established in order to have a great draft and FA period.

One of the only good things about having multiple holes in your roster is there will be very good players available at multiple positions in the draft and FA. I am confident we can grab some talent.

But if we don’t know what kind of team we are building, how can we match talent to need? A great off-season plan starts right there.
The answer is C:

A team full of slow, unmotivated SISSIES, who talk smack and run their mouths on podcasts, and then get clowned and bullied on the football team, while a senile old liver spotted alcoholic geezer Hogs the camera and rakes in the cash

Can't wait for September!

No, but they can sign him if they want and they should want him.
He's a very talented player and most likely will expect a handsome payday. As you likely know, Jerry and Stephen are extremely cheap. I can't help but doubt they'll be willing to accept anything but a bargain type of deal. It'd be great if he came affordably enough to suit them, though. We'll see.

Well, we made the Arizona OL coach the OC. So, why do that if the plan isn't to run the ball.......a lot. I think even our dimwitted front office has figured out that Dak is never going to get them to a Super Bowl with his arm. I'm hoping we become a smash mouth running team with a stout defense. We have a looong way to go on the defensive side of the ball.
Looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong.......

Just have some kind of design to this team instead of the fantasy football approach of signing a few “stars” and then a bunch of joes that may or may not fit together well.
Since that's exactly what he's been doing for 30 years, not seeing why he'd suddenly change it!!!

The new HC or staff need to grow a pair and let the JJ's know what they need and what it takes to be successful in the NFL. The secret formula: RUN the ball, Stop the RUN. Jerry's commitment to brand needs to be 2nd on his agenda to finally get our team back to glory. Tiny violins playing as I wrote this because we pretty much know what the JJ's won't do. :(

So what do you expect from the guy who thinks because he has the highest paid player in the league he should be in the SB and was surprised they weren’t. All in this year highest paid player on offense and most likely the highest paid player on defense, the SB is a lock, just ask Jerry if you don’t believe me

hopefully a run heavy offense.
the staff hires point that way.
the young'ns up-front point that way.
hopefully up-top see's those "blinking lights" come draft time.
we'll see.

He will get a pay day and they can pay him if they want or they can just sit back and let Philly dominate them.

That's how they've managed to gain their reputation. We all hope it won't happen, but the past has a way of repeating itself, here.:omg:

You'd think at some point, the things that have happened in the past would change their ways, but hard heads aren't receptive to that.

Actually, when push comes to shove, Jerry will probably capitulate to Micah's wishes . . . Lord knows he wants him back enough for it.

that guy was coming off three straight 12-5 season's. I had em finishing 14-3

Smoke and mirrors and the same problems season after season I thought 7 to 9 wins max don’t see how anyone could believe this was a good team last season especially after the GB debacle and the offseason they had.

This team has a lot of similarities to those Dave Campo HC'ed teams.

I've lost any enthusiasm for what I think they should do in the off season.

They can wayward sail during the season, never reaching any port, but off season is eternal sargasso sea.

No wind for the sails and seaweed tugging at the keel and rudder.

All in/
