”guy wasnt able to learn route running thru his whole college and NFL carreer.”

Umm, are you serious? His route running was the weakest part of his game, but the guy still knew how to run routes. Just wasn’t good enough to consistently get open against NFL defensive backs.

His game was always about overpowering people with his pure athleticism. That was always his game. Stop with the hyperbole, it makes you sound unintelligent.

Dont we talk about the same thing ?

This guy had exactly one route he could run, that was the curl. Everything else he could not.
If you think that being able to walk and run straight equates also to route running then we see things differently.

I said in another post that his game was to overpower people. Now that he has lost his physical ability to do that AND that he never was the one who beat people with technique i doubt he will make it back into the NFL.

BTW: Thanks for caring how it may sound when i post here on this board.

Just bring hi m in for a try out. Let’s see what happens in camp. If he can play then look at how much money he wants. He played for the saints cheap. Incentive based. Try him as TE. Easy patterns for him to run and MM knows how to use and scheme TE open. Dez and Jarwin could have fun.

I'm 1000% confident if Mike's NOT on board with this, it WILL NOT HAPPEN. But if you look at MIke teams during his Packer tenure, he was never afraid of squeezing the last few years from aging vets. IT's our FO that never wanted anything to do with 30+ players.

In fact, I'll go as far as to say Stephen has ALREADY gotten positive feedback from Mike. Think about it, I doubt he would make such comment about an issue as controversial as this w/o running it by his new coach.
Mike wants it fine-Just dont want another T.O./Parcells situation especially before Mike even gets to his first preseason team gathering

He might play TE. Jarwin is a nobody

I think Karwin could be a good TE. He did very well in his limited action. He knows how to run after the catch and makes TDs. With no Witten it leaves him with a chance.

Kid named Wilson has just been invited to the combine. Has pretty much every record for a TE and expected to be a later round pick.

Keep Witten, bring back Dez, might as well ask Randy White if he wants to suit up.

Tryouts at vet min don't cost any money. It won't cost a dime to cut him or anyone in TC. If he can't play slot or TE then he goes. No fuss or muss involved.
2WR 2TE packages with Dez and Jarwin make some sense if he can still play. Witten is washed up/finished. Dez might be we just have to wait and see.

Cooper mwy benefit from this. Let Dez get in his ear during those road/cold games so he stops playing soft. Dez was many things but never soft

That and he'd draw fire flack away from him and Gallup. If you put safety help on Coop, then you're leaving Dez or Gallup free. And, if you have Cobb as well, then that's going to be too many weapons to cover. But, if you try to cover Dez, you could leave Coop free on routes.

The draft is loaded with wide receiver talent, and we want to revisit the past by letting a has-been receiver recapture his glory.
Looking for the next Tom Landry.
Adopting a 90s offensive scheme and mindset well into a new century.
Hanging on to Jason Garrett too long while we just waste talent.
Owners meddling into football affairs.
Haven't we learned ANYTHING yet?

That's what a tryout is for. You don't know that he can't run routes. It has voiced by multiple players that garrot pigeonholed guys. He ran the play that was called.

he couldn't run routes, he wasn't pigeonholed by anybody, they tried to have him move around and run different routes ,he couldn't do it. stop the ignorance. but he may have improved with the time away and he should get a look, it can't hurt

I think it was JG and Witten. Both gone. Injury has humbled him and he has money. He wants to play again. If he can get it done then ok.

it was more Linenhan until he got cut, then it turned to JG, even though it was reported JG was the last one to agree with releasing him and had to be convinced to do so. It was Stephen who started the pay cut talk in the media.

How many routes does a 4th receiver need to run? It was never this guy's strength and he never needed it. But go match up your 3rd and 4th cornerback with Dez Bryant and I'll take my chances there.
After reconsidering my initial thought of this actually happening,,,
Can Dez be more productive than Noah Brown?
Can Dez be less of a cap hit than Noah Brown?
That should be all we need to consider.
