The Cowboys should sign Keenum, and let Dak decide what to do next

This thread has been bumped by desperate trolls from almost going off of the front page more times than Dak was intercepted last year. Imagine being so triggered by Keenum being better than Dak, that you bumped this thread once for every All-Pro teammate that Dak has had over Keenum. Now that’s a lot of troll desperation!

You posted almost the exact thing around 10 hours ago. Maybe you should stop bumping the thread.

The Cowboys have had three QBs lead them to the Super Bowl Craig Morton, Roger Staubach, Troy Aikman and all three were Cowboys draft picks. The QB we drafted 4 years ago is capable of getting it done and I firmly believe it.

Look who’s talking the fan who would love him some Taysom Hill over Dak for the right price.

Look who's writing. The one who can't seem to read simple text. You talk a lot of crap but you rarely back anything up with actual fact. You just talk a lot. Not that you will be able to do it but go ahead, show me where I said what you claim. You won't be able to because I never said that but it's OK. Maybe it will keep you busy for a few minutes and out of every one else's way.

You said pretty much the same thing about Tony though right?

I wont read through this entire thing, but I'm fairly sure this is about negotiating leverage for the team.

No one thinks Keenum is better than Prescott, but negotiations are about alternatives for the other side.

To the OP.....SJones publicly says they are "all in" on 4, then proceed to lowball him and wonder why things get nowhere. I see what you were trying to say, and that was gonna be very misunderstood and very not popular, but the team obviously isnt going to negotiate that way.

Its seems like its gonna be like...."Dak, we love you, please give us a discount."

No? Ok well then we will just wait it out, cause some damage, then give you your money anyway.

Which one of the Jerry era disputes hasn't gone that way?

I'm afraid the Dak debate is just Garrett 2.0.
That's where I am going.

Meaning Garrett led us to the epitome of mediocrity and so may Prescott?

If so, well that's a different debate. I dont love the guy, but I dont make the choices, and I dont annoint myself as knowing for sure they cant win w him, so we hope....and that's what being a Dallas fan has come to....hope. In other words, watching Jerry play with his toy. Not much more.

At QB? Honestly, I don't know that any of them have gone that way. Cowboys usually don't screw around with the QB deals, as far as I can remember.

Being capable and making it to the SB and winning not the same. Dan Fouts was capable of winning a SB so was Marino. I felt Danny White was capable. Thing is it takes a team all playing good ball to make it and win it. QB is clearly the hardest position to fill and finding a player whom a team feels can lead them to a SB.

Obvioiusly, but being uncapable and making it to the Super Bowl is impossible. I don't really care what anybody says, Dak is not a QB who can simply will this team to the Super Bowl. He needs players and that means we can't be in a position where we are simply trapped in a contract that is untradeable or you just can't operate with. I suspect that this is what Jerry might be seeing as well. To me, it's the only thing that makes sense. This is not about money if Jerry is 100% convinced that Dak is the guy IMO. Jerry knows that what ever he spends on Dak, he gets back 10 fold if he's the guy. This is not Jerry being greedy IMO. He doesn't have to be because he knows. This is about insuring he gives the team the best possible chance to try and win IMO. At least in his mind.

The OP said he did.

They're not lowballing. Dak's agent is highballing.

and that is your opinion, your entitled to it but it carry about as much fact as those who claim he can. Dak like others around the league will get a sizable contract and within a 1 to 2 years it will look middle of the road. I don't fully agree with how things are done in the NFL but based on what I have seen that is how it is done. Dallas could get rid of him and hell may strike gold on the other hand we could spend the next 5 to 10 years searching as other teams have done hoping like hell they can find a QB. I expect Dallas will get this deal done and yes I feel Dak can lead this team to a championship. I don't expect all to agree with me

The Cowboys should get Case Keenum and give him a four year deal.
He would be an upgrade immediately, and at worst would solidify the Cowboys at quarterback if they do eventually sign Dak.
Phillip Rivers is also available, and is an upgrade.
Ryan Tannehill is available.
The Cowboys don't have to be in this soap opera with a guy who went 8-8 but wants to be paid like he is a proven winner.
Signing a veteran like Keenum- who has been a winner- would likely change Dak's attitude towards a new contract.
But I believe that the Cowboys would make it to the NFC Championship game next year with a guy like Keenum under center.

I like the train of thought. The Cowboys need a plan B and some leverage. Right now, the team has painted itself into such a corner that there is no point even negotiating. They might as well hand Dak whatever he wants.

Hell, bring Andy Dalton home and see what he can do surrounded with this OL, Zeke, and Cooper.

Without seeing what is being offered and how it is structured none of know what the true deal is. Glazer is reporting that the 40 mill is a lie. As for the 33 I believe it was that was offered without looking at how the deal is structured you still do not know.

OK, fair enough. Who is the uncapable team who has won the Super Bowl?

I did not say uncapable teams win SB. I said there have been QB more than capable of winning it all yet played their entire career without ever winning a SB. Marino sure as hell was capable but no ring to show for it, and there is a list of QB I think many would think were capable but teams were unable to get that ring.
