The Cowboys should sign Keenum, and let Dak decide what to do next

My opinion didn’t create the stats. In no world is 18 TDs close to as good as 22 (especially with over 100 more attempts), or is 15 INTs close to as good as 7, or is a 62% completion % close to as good as 68%, or is 6.6 yards per attempt close to as good as 7.4, or is a 45.5 QBR anywhere in the mind of any rational person close to as good as 74.3. In 2017 Keenum had one season where he was truly an above average QB, but in 2018 he was a very low end starter, and he wasn’t even that much the other 6 years of his career. Yet you took Dak’s worst year and compared it to Keenum’s one and only strong season and decided Keenan was a good alternative to Dak.

As for Keenum being a 2nd, 3rd and 4th stringer in his career, you actually did deny that by arguing that a single high level season wasn’t an anomaly. Hell, even if you want to delude yourself into believing Keenum had a strong 2018 season, that’s still just 2 seasons out of 8.
in that one season, he had the #1 defense, #1 scoring defense and #7 rushing attack....and he was so good, Mike Zimmer and company said, we take Kirk Cousin!!!

I’m surprised one of the brainiacs on this board hasn’t suggested coaxing Brock Osweiler out of retirement to replace Dak.

A hilarious comedy thread could be created with all the names of the rejects that have come up to replace Dak.

There are almost as many desperate attempts to bump this thread by attention seeking trolls as there are All-Pros needed for Dak to be even mentioned in the same breath as Case Keenum. For Gods sake let it die.

Not sure I can recall a topic that’s exposed the lack of football insight on this board more than these threads hyping average, journeymen QBs as being better options than resigning Dak. It’s almost like some of the boneheads on this forum don’t want the Cowboys to be successful and win a championship. When you dig up the resumes of some of these losers fans are touting, they defend their dismal stats and records that got them benched and kicked to the curb.

When I brought up Keenum’s 6-17 W/L record the past 2 seasons, one fan blamed the bad teams he played for as if Keenum played no part in it. The Cowboys go 8-8 and some of the knuckleheads we have here are putting the entire blame on Dak, while defending some of these castoffs that have lost more games than they’ve won. Anyone who seriously thinks the Cowboys can bounce back from an 8-8 season and become championship contenders with a journeyman QB who’s bouncing from team to team and has a 6-17 W/L record the past two seasons shouldn’t be allowed to start threads.

If Keenum is made available in free agency that will mean he went one and done with his last three teams. Those of you who are touting him as our next starting QB need to try and wrap your head around that.

This thread has been bumped by desperate trolls from almost going off of the front page more times than Dak was intercepted last year. Imagine being so triggered by Keenum being better than Dak, that you bumped this thread once for every All-Pro teammate that Dak has had over Keenum. Now that’s a lot of troll desperation!

The Cowboys should get Case Keenum and give him a four year deal.
He would be an upgrade immediately, and at worst would solidify the Cowboys at quarterback if they do eventually sign Dak.
Phillip Rivers is also available, and is an upgrade.
Ryan Tannehill is available.
The Cowboys don't have to be in this soap opera with a guy who went 8-8 but wants to be paid like he is a proven winner.
Signing a veteran like Keenum- who has been a winner- would likely change Dak's attitude towards a new contract.
But I believe that the Cowboys would make it to the NFC Championship game next year with a guy like Keenum under center.
