In that proposed scenario, one of those picks would be the Cowboys 17th overall pick in this years 2020 draft. The 1st round pick in 2021 could possibly end up being a top ten pick.
I do find the proposed trade illogical. Dak isn't under contract. If they do sign him to a contract, then they aren't trading him. I doubt Dak would sign a Franchise Tag offer knowing he would be traded to the Bengals. The whole rumor of Burrow not wanting to a Bengal is speculation based on players not wanting to play in Cincy. It probably is true that guys would prefer not to play for that franchise and that would have to include Prescott as well. And if the trade did happen, it would leave Dallas without a 1st round pick in 2021. How do you help a young QB(Burrows) if you are giving away draft commodities? If you make that type of move, then you should just go ahead and gut the team and start over.
What has Dak proven? That he’s solid?
You draft a guy like Burrow or Tua you expect their floor to be solid and you don’t have to pay them a Kong’s ransom like you do Dak.
The old way of thinking about QBs is coming to an end.. It’s easier then ever to find a guy and a lot of the times these “busts” just went to the wrong situation like Tannehill for instance.
You provide a quality team around a QB and you can make a 4th round QB like Dak play well..
Ohhh you have a crystal ball now? Bet you thought ryan leaf was going to be amazing after college too!I don't see it.. He can read defenses at a high level and he has the athleticism on top of that to scramble and even run for first downs.
He's got all the tools a modern QB needs. If he fails it will be because of situation.
You put him in an optimal environment like Dallas and he will go off.
If the Cowboys succeed, those "four firsts" are more like four seconds. You're OK w/ giving up four 1sts? How are you going to build around him then?
Since we'd have to give up the farm to get them, we prolly wouldn't possess the resources necessary to build a super bowl contender around them until 5 years has passed.there are other ways of looking at it though
if you don’t sign Dak and get Burrow, you are nit paying 35+ million /year to the QB and the cap is going up so you have A LOT more money to spend on FAs in that scenario
it should depend on what the franchise thinks if Burrow or Tua since an elite QB is the best predictor of sustained success
Dak is not an elite QB. if they think either of Burrow or Tua is elite then they should do what they can to get them
they won’t but they should
Just curious what their asking price would be...........Dak obviously doesn't want to be here, I don't know how much more plain he could make it.
They won't though, how do you not see that?If the Cowboys succeed, those "four firsts" are more like four seconds.
I can deal with that.
Andy Dalton was the lowest-rated QB last year, but he was followed by Baker Mayfield, Kyle Allen, Mason Rudolph, Josh Allen, Jameis Winston and Sam Darnold, all with a rating under 85. (Dak Prescott was ninth at 99.7.) Four of those players were first-round picks, including two taken first overall.
Prescott may be the floor of what you hope a No. 1 overall QB could be, but that isn't the reality. The No. 1 picks listed above are the floor. That's why Prescott has much more value than you seem to believe. He's closer to the ceiling than the floor.
That would be a good place to stuff Dak.Stephen might be on the phone as we speak, trying to get a "team-friendly" deal for Dak by getting Burrows on an even trade.

I think once the season starts you'll need the cry towels. Once he's singed he's signed and I'll just go about criticizing him or giving him props like I normally do. When over paid Dak is still the same average player he always has been see if you Dak defenders keep loving him. Ime you people change when folks start getting a lot of money and aren't that good.
Because every year it's a fourth, fifth, or sixth rounder that is wowing the league. And sometimes an undrafted guy. They won't though, how do you not see that?
I always keep a few stowed away for greedy players that I used to admire.Gee, whiz -- I never realized you had such evil thoughts!
Not a huge deal? You want us to get rid of Dak and draft a bust now? Wow. You’re on fire.Lol you guys are so scared that you will draft Ryan Leaf.. It’s funny..
Even if you do draft a bust it’s not a huge deal like it used to be because of the Rookie salary cap.

I never said everything is all the qb's fault so yeah try again. I don't use stupid logic like we already overpaid people so let's add another one that I definitely know isn't good. Dak is a main part of what held the team back but you like most people are easily impressed by numbers. Why would I be a Patrick Mahommes guy when there is no chance we get him? You're too emotional and that's a very annoying thing coming from a man. Please make sense when posting.the truth of the matter is Ill criticize Dak when hes got it coming.I just don't fall into the everything is the QB's fault like some of you. We already have 2 extremely over rated over paid folks whats 1 more? its not my money.and guess what if for some reason Dak isnt under center week 1, I still wont give 2 shats because I root for the brand. Dak isnt what held this team back but you push on. Perhaps you are one of those Patrick mahomes guys who thinks that he would be the savior of the dallas cowboys guess what he isnt available the chiefs got lucky.
Dak, this years 1, and next years 1 for cheap QB play that allows us to build the team.. Um yeah.. I like our chances of winning the Super Bowl in the next 5 years.
