Why blame him? He didn't force anybody to do anything. They were all aware of the situation with Marinelli responding to his ex player, Scott Frost and Hill's previous HC, and starting a relationship with Hill.I think McGovern will end up being a nice player for us. Pollard is a good change of pace back. Other than that?
Hill will be an anchor for years to come. The last giant middle finger from Marinelli to Cowboys fans.
I never really hate any player or coach but I am close to hating Marinelli. He's screwed more than a draft or two due to his stubbornness.
They were also aware that Nick Hayden was one of his favorites because of that coach thing they love of a player milking it for everything he's got. They love effort, which is why they don't get to pick the players. I guarantee you every coach at the Combine will have at least one player steal his heart with hustle.
I think that is a completely unfair portrayal of Marinelli giving fans the finger. If you knew more about the man, that's not something you would put forth. He's a hell of a guy, just not a good DC.
I didn't like him as the DC because he's a cover coach, the opposite of what Rob Ryan was. Marinelli cared about these players and he played it too safe trying to keep from leaving them out in the open. Giving up big plays draws attention. He covered for them by not exposing them as much as he should have and let the chips fall where they may.
