Which will probably make Dak the highest paid QB in the league.

Amazing we have fans who actually believe Dak should be the highest paid in the NFL.

Id be curious what the rest of the leagues fan think:)

I don't. That's why I'm fond of the non-exclusive tag which lets him shop himself to all the other teams and if one bites, we get two 1st's for him. Dak is not
going to lead us to the promised land like Moses. Dak is no Moses for sure.

It's the same 6 or 7 teams that would hire Garrett as head coach if he was available.
I noticed all the teams knocking down his door to hire him when JJ FINALLY put his lame *** in the road.

Trade Dak now or the Cowboys are going to wind up with another Zeke/Jalen fiasco.

It does matter. Regardless how long it is.

Even his most ardent supporters don’t believe he should be the highest paid QB.
It depends on how much is guaranteed, which no one is really factoring in.

I kind of hope Prescott goes elsewhere and fans are quickly reminded of the train-wreck we had after Aikman retired.

It would hurt too many feeling to post some of those opinions here.

We shall see but I expect Jerry to eventually pony up. Dak has all the leverage. As usual Jerry has no Plan B.
I'm optimistic it won't be near the tragedy that some suggest, just my opinion.

I’d like to see how he’d do like in Cincinnati or Miami for example like some of these top picks will go.

We had a train wreck after Aikman cause we didn’t draft another QB after Quincy.

Truly amazing in last 20+ years our drafted QB’s are 2nd rd Quincy, 4th Rd McGee and Prescott and 5th round White.

Not much effort IMO to find our next great franchise QB.

What difference does that make? Either other teams approach with offers or they don't. That's the whole point of "testing free agency" - see what interest - if any - is out there.
A trade is not the same as testing free agency. A trade is initiated and/or negotiated by the team, but the team cannot do that with a player who is a free agent.

With the non-exclusive franchise tag a player can negotiate a contract with another team, and the original team can either get a predetermined compensation or match the offer and keep the player. That's the process, which is different than a team trading a player.

If you remember, when Romo got his start, that was our franchise QB, after he went out Prescott took over. Drafting early QBs is fun to dream about because a pretty high risk.

It’s actually the best place to look for your next franchise QB despite the bust which is a much lower percentage than the successes.

Most of the starting Qb in NFL cone out of 1st and 2nd round.

Not when you have a player who's been part of a team with near the most wins since he started. Wentz and Goff don't look All World.

Trading Dak would help someone else win a Super Bowl, while we’re burning the draft picks we got trying to replace him.

Is trading Dak Prescott a solution for the Dallas Cowboys?

Would trading Dak Prescott help the Cowboys chances to win the Super Bowl. Or, would paying him a contract averaging more than $30 million get them closer?...

Here's the problem with this sportswriter's article. First Prescott has said he doesn't have to be the highest paid QB that length, bonuses and guarantees are more important. That 30 mil contract was declined because of the length of it. Prescott only wants a 3 year deal.

Second, that big list on NFL that rated Prescott as the 11th place QB was done by 4 sportswriters who don't have a single snap in the NFL and he makes it sound like this list was comprised by actual qualified people like coaches or GM's. Sportswriters who THINK that because they watch games that it makes them experts. Fans watch games yet I don't consider them experts.

What this is, is yet another of the multiple daily Prescott threads most of which are starter by people that just want to push their displeasure of Prescott.

Trading him is but a dream, there's zero chance it happens.

That's an absolute truth. Nobody is willing to pony up what Dak wants. The more I read, the more sense it makes that Stephen Jones mentioned transition tag.

If he don't accept your $33 Million, tag him at $24 million, and let him test the market. Best guess is he gets an offer around $27 million. You retain him at $28 Million and spend the extra $5 Million on the 16 free agents we have on defense.

Can anybody on this forum read? Anyone?

Jesus people. Let me try this for the 5th time...

Non-exclusive franchise tag: This is the most commonly used tag. When commentators colloquially refer to the "franchise tag" they are generally talking about the non-exclusive version. This is a one-year tender offer for an amount no less than the average of the top five salaries at the player's position over the last five years, or 120 percent of his previous salary, whichever is greater. The player can negotiate with other teams. The player's current team has the right to match any offer, or receive two first-round draft picks as compensation if he signs with another organization.

There is a very good chance no team is willing to give 2 1st round picks up. I get that, but what I'm saying is THE COWBOYS SHOULD GIVE HIM THE NON-EXCLUSIVE AND PREY LIKE HELL SOME TEAM IS DESPERATE ENOUGH TO GIVE HIM AN OFFER...Does this make sense now?
I’m sorry, did I quote you? No, no I didn’t and I’m not referring to the non exclusive tag, I’ve seen several people say they think we could get two firsts for him with no mention of the tag.

Also, I’m not a jesus person and it’s pray and not prey. Does that make sense?

No need to thank me, you’re welcome. Have a nice day, sounds like you could use it.

You didn't quote him but i will quote you and i'm so glad you've taken up the mantle of "Spelling Police" on this site...at least you seem to be competent in that regard
