That’s crazy what Goff got.

However, it’s simply the QB market. Solid QBs, not elite guys going to make over 30+ (Dak, Tannehill, Teddy etc).

Nothing you can do about it.

Yep........and that is the thing that the QB challenged trolls dont get. Its simply the QB market. EVERY team that isn't paying 30 million plus for a top 10 QB wishes they were. ONLY teams basking in the glory are the guys with studs still on their current rookie deals.

Only looks crazy because they had a down year. Before last year, it looked great. 2 years from now it may look like a bargain.

But why would they - the data has shown that they won't be winning a Superbowl any time soon.

Every team should want to land a quality rookie QB. Ride that Superbowl window for 3-5 seasons.

And Dak shouldn't get the same? If that the rate, then Dak's getting the same

All those QB's will get around 30 million or over. That is what he is saying.

I always liked Tannehill.
Understood, but Tannehill and Teddy are not Top 10 QBs. Dak is.

Still, the point is made even more for Dak getting $35+ million since the market demands Tannehill and Teddy get $30 mil/season each.

Well, owners can simply take a stand and say sorry but I am not going to pay that kind of money for a QB...or DE....or LB...or RB.

Sometimes a team has to be more creative than just to do what everyone else is doing.

So, before the 3/19 date his dead cap is 51mil.

Interesting deal. Guess they were really set on him being the QB for 3+ years.
Unlike Wentz where the put an out clause a year into his deal.

Cant believe you are actually asking that question. As if drafting a rookie, having him become great instantly, and having a SB caliber coach and team all at the same time is no big deal. LOL

Try to think a little deeper than what you are currently doing. What the Cowboys and other teams need to be doing is consistently drafting QB's like that the Pats do and developing them. Keep the competition going. If the young kid HAPPENS to be better or as good as the incumbent, high paid guy, then you trade the high paid guy and get draft picks.

But what you dont do is simply cut your franchise QB's every 4 years and start over. 15 years of horror between Aikman and Romo.

I dont think that was his point. It was that they are all going to get over 30 million each.

Im not a Teddy fan, but I do like Tann. Plenty of QB's out there that if you surround them with great talent, they can win it all.

Right but it would have to be basically all the owners taking a stand to set market rates for players...which is basically collusion. At any rate, if you have a great player, there is an owner out there who is willing to break their bank for that player.

Hey look how stupid the Rams are? Let's go be stupid too! Yay!
Hey, let's be stupid..er by getting rid of proven and still improving Dak in his prime... and instead draft a rookie while hoping he won't be a bust (which is very likely) while wasting this current roster's players that are still in their prime.

Yep. Plus, the NFLPA would never allow for owners to collude to devalue the market for free agents. The NFLPA would take the owners/NFL to court and win.

+1...think about it, what 2-3 years ago, the Dolphins ran Tannahill out of town. Now he's about to cash in on a min $27-30M per season deal and let's not forget he sent a former 2nd overall QB pick to the bench. Said a long time ago, this is all about whether or teams believe in their STARTING QB who's up for a new deal. If they do, their floor is $27-28M, the same as the tag.
