Nobody would care about their article so they used this as a tactic for attention.
Dak will most likely have a better career because he had a bigger head start from the college he went to then walking onto a ready made offense.
Lol.....a ready made offense that almost got Romo killed two seasons in a row.
.....a ready made offense that was ranked 31st in scoring the previous season....however, they were ranked #1 in turning the ball over.
The top two QB's in the ranking are right on.
Dak cannot be considered in this ranking because it would be blatantly unfair to him. He has only completed his 4th season and he is being compared to other's who's careers are complete?
The first consideration when ranking these quarterbacks should be their contributions in the playoffs and their impact in the final outcome.
Danny White may have started on three consecutive NFC championship losing teams but they got there and anyone who doesn't believe that is significant should be reminded that it has been 25 seasons since the last time they got there.
Between 1980 and 1985 no NFL quarterback led their team to more regular season victories than Danny White, one more than 2nd place Joe Montana. White was 6-5 in the playoffs, one of only 24 QB's in history that played in more than 10 postseason games.
As much as I loved Dandy Don, he was just as responsible as any other player for the "almosts".
The Cowboys have been ranked #1 offensively in both yardage and points three times in franchise history, twice with Meredith as the starter. Both times they flatlined in the playoffs.
The 3rd time? Staubachs first season as starter, 1971, in which they won their first Super Bowl.
So, put me down for this order:
1. Staubach
2. Troy Aikman
3. Danny White
4. Tony Romo
5. Don Meredith
Again, you can't rank Dak, his career is incomplete. It would be unfair to compare his first four years to everybody's total.
But we can speculate.....I think he ends up at #3 when all is said and done.
