Well no doubt he's not a star but no one is suggesting he is. Maliek was long down on the list of what was wrong with this team. So if there's a chance to bring him in at a solid price then i'd look into it. But I think it was always assumed he'd test free agency and get a nice check. I'm sure that's going to be a lot of guys in free agency. He may be average here but with a real coaching staff they may feel like they can get more out of him.

I don't think sacks is what his problem was. He could be disruptive at times. I think the problems with him was consistency and playing the run. IMO, he just never got better. Not necessarily worse just stayed stagnant. But so did this coaching staff.

He is in the Heath category for me.

If he is on this team in 2020, better be as a reserve.

I’m indifferent on him coming back. If the coaches see something they like, cool maybe he can improve, but I don’t think he had a great year.

I actually think the D-line got fed up w/ Marinelli....and went about 70% of the time. I'd like to see these cats under a new coach...I can't blame them for quitting.

My mistake you are correct. I get his draft position and Charles Tapper's position confused.

IMO, he played like a 3rd rounder. How many freakish athlete DT's make it to the 3rd round of the draft? We got a starter in the 3rd round. I'll take that in any draft.

Oh naw I can draft a reserve. Or I can get a veteran minimum guy to play that role.

He's in the Heath category for me too. I can win with him....but I better have some playmakers around him.

He looked poised to emerge as a very good player after his rookie season. He regressed though when he was transitioned to
playing more 1tech. I would have him back on a 2 year deal as he's still just 24 years old and I don't trust the old coaching staff's evaluation or scheming for any player in that defensive system. The guy has talent, I would at least be curious how he performs in a new scheme.
