You did quote me, so I assumed your response was directed toward what you quoted.

As for what I said being an unreasonable assumption, I did not assume the having Dez, Cooper and Gallup on the field was a great fit or that the Cowboys would like the idea of that grouping. I said they could easily do it, not that they would want to. And frankly, it's not at all unrealistic to think of Cooper as a slot receiver. He's done it before, and frankly there is no rule that says a slot receiver has to play slot at all times or that he has to be a secondary player. Tyreek Hill plays slot. Antonio Brown played outside, but frequently moved into the slot. Edelman plays slot.
I don't think Bryant is at the point of his career where he's all that versatile. All those guys are elite.

I was talking about Cooper in the slot, not Dez. In other words, if the Cowboys couldn't re-sign Cobb, they could make it work by signing another outside receiver and playing Cooper in the slot when they use 3 receivers.

Again, I'm not advocating that. My comments on this goes back to the poster that said that if they were going to sign Dez they would have already, and I was merely pointing out that having not signed Dez by now does not necessarily prove they wouldn't consider it later depending on circumstances.

That's where he needs to be. I actually believe if he's healthy, he'd be a better No. 3 than Cobb.

Back half of 2019, Cobb was very good. Better than Dez in 2017, though it's easier to look good as the #3 with Cooper and Gallup instead of the #1 with Terrance Williams.

Read the thread. It's not about the drop. All players make mistakes. It's that his biggest supporters made excuses that the drop wasn't his fault because the pass wasn't perfect. So, the question is, if he can't be expected to make that play because the ball wasn't perfect, what exactly is the argument for bring him in?

It's already been discussed and maybe you've caught up to the conversation already.

I read it, and know. It's a silly argument on both sides. He should be expected to catch that. Overall point was just that there's a ton of "So and so didn't do this, he sucks" and it's frustrating. Your "isn't he supposed to be some physical beast" stuff really sells the point.

In this play Dez is looking to his inside for the ball.

DAKs pass is drifting across Dez's face and Dez has to look to the left. The throw is short and late and the DB recovered.

We saw Dak throw this all last year. Cannot lead a WR, throws behind them and the DB knocks it away.

As a Dez hater, you sure know how to prove your case. Hope you are not a prosecutor attorney. You are a much better Public Defender.

:hammer:

lol.... Dez hater as you spout off about Dak. strange times.

And did you just hammer/nail your own post? yeesh

Well, yeah. It's like a large portion of the posts. It's the game that been played here for as long as I've been a member.

I’m usually not in favor of big tech censorship, but YouTube should downgrade that guy’s video posting limit from 1 upload every hour to none.

Maybe not, but there's not a real strong case for any team having interest. There's no risk giving him a workout if the staff truly felt that circumstances may change in the future. I'm going with the odds. No teams have given him any attention, workouts or interviews. There's simply better options regardless of whatever scenario you can dream up. If I were to guess, Dallas would be one of the last teams that would consider him given the history.

right, which is what i'm lamenting. sad.

I stopped posting on a lot of general sports forums, to keep from arguing about the cowboys so often with other fans. Then come to a Cowboys board and it's even worse :muttley:

I agree man. I know it gets tiring. I've been there before. I used to try and be a sensible poster years ago but figured it was a losing battle and it's just the online game that's played. Can't discuss anything, have to argue about everything, be rude, be sarcastic, etc. I'd prefer a board were we simply discussed the Cowboys, understood there would be differences of opinions, still be respectful, be open-minded and willing to learn, actually comprehend the other person's point, etc but realized that's just not going to happen.

All you have to do is look at the current "workout" videos. It's not very flattering imo

Who is holding workouts and signing people right now? There's your answer.
Really? There are whole pile of players who have resigned and have been signed just in March, did you even look?

The big thing is Bryant is lobbying on social media. I would have a much different opinion if the workouts were legit and not some clowns who have to be placed in positions right before a route is attempted. It's embarrassing to see the deterioration.

Show me that 'huge pile', because thus far that's what your case is looking like, a huge pile.

I agree with you that workouts against slappies and air shows nothing. That's why I say bring him in during OTA's against actual competition. If he looks like crap then? OK, sorry Dez, we gave it a shot.

Dez hater?

Got me confused with somebody else.

Hate is no word I would use. Consistant Opposer is a little more gentle.

What I 'oppose' is this GM who wears too many hats. I like Jerrah but this rebuilding with McCarthy is beyond him anymore.

He allowed and supported Garrett for way too long. It started to kill his current team..his cash cow becuz of Garrett.

But I do chafe a few with my comments. It's just how I read things.

I just wash, rinse, add some flowery scent to the dryer and dry, fold and repeat.

In March: Marcus Baugh, John Wetzel, Chris Smith, Josh Norman, Chris Milton, Matt Judon.
Resigned: Emmanuel Moseley, Daniel Brunskill, Nick Mullens, Austin Ekeler, Adam Redmond, Steven Means, Reggie Gilbert, Ka'imi Fairbairn, Darren Fells,
Kyle Allen, DeAndre Carter, Cameron Johnston, Isaiah Ford, Zach Sieler, Dylan Cole, Tony Brown, Quinton Spain.

Teams looking at Bryant: None.

If he gets signed, I'll gladly admit my opinion on him is wrong.

I'm not even insisting on him being signed, just given an opportunity to perform against real competition. If he doesn't have it? Adios!

you were calling the guy a Dez hater, while you exhibited some very haterish symptons yourself towards Dak in the same breath.

Found it just a little amusing and ironic
