With Dak and his team out of their minds about his value, and their harda$$ refusal to negotiate, they should have used the non exclusive tag on his butt. They think between now and July they are going to agree ? Nuts. Should have used non exclusive and made moves for future without Dak.
This!

I still haven't seen a source for these higher numbers you have been saying. That being did it is on the Cowboys for not offering this deal last year. Then Dak only making $2 million would have pushed the AAV down down to $28 million. They been lowballing him the whole time so the price is only going to go up. If Dak plays the whole year on the tag then the price goes up again.

An I haven't seen any sources that confirm what it is that you are saying. I said up front, nobody knows but we have seen tweets from people close to the organization that have provided this info. It's not confirmed for sure but it's a reasonable as anything CBS has put out there and probably even more so.

From what I've seen it is the Cowboys that want it both ways. They don't want to set the market but they also want Dak to sign a 6 or 7 year dea . That isn't a fair deal on its face, and I haven't even brought up the new tv money which will cause an even bigger jump in the cap. There were reports that qbs could be making $70 million a year in 7 years.

There is no money right now, today. So if we are talking about what ifs, then what if Dak continues to be what he is today? If that happens, he isn't worth 27 and that's the truth. None of them are so like you said, there is no proof of any of this so no 6 or 7 year deal. I haven't seen that reported anywhere, other then the article you provided and the 70 million pie in the sky stuff is nothing. It's not today and in 7 years, there is no guarantee that Dak will even still be in the league. If that's the deal Dak wants, then here's your tag and the Cowboys should move on.

Maybe you should have made that same consideration before you tried to lecture others about how they should feel? I guess when it comes to you and your viewpoint, the 'rules' are then different? In case, you haven't noticed, that is the double standard that you're displaying that I am pointing out to you.

I’m not “lecturing” others, just voicing my opinion and asking you about yours. Besides, would my “lecture” have ANY affect on you whatsoever?

It wouldn’t or shouldn’t.

or he just won't play and sit out. that'll be great for the team. can't wait to see rush play!
It won’t be Rush if Mr. average at best is not on the roster and I hope he’s not!

You haven't even shown a tweet. I'm just saying show anything.

Good teams understand how to maximize returns on players

Those teams that overpay for talent don't play in the last game of the year. Look at the Ravens after winning the super bowl, overpaid for Flacco didn't even make the playoffs until after he was benched.
Chiefs didn’t overpay for anyone? Sammy Watkins says “Hello!”.

Why in the world would the team offer those number last year? What GM, in their right mind, would offer those numbers to Dak last year? Why would they have done that? As I said, we've been over this. You just don't seem to want to listen. France and CAA were never going to sign a long term deal. So basically, we would have been paying those numbers to Dak for a period of a few years and the minute the CAA and Mohomes' new deal was in place, we would have been right back at the table. Why in the world would the team have done that?

Hopefully Dak stays away from OTAs thinking he's worth $45 million a year. Delusional.

Then we can draft a QB in the first round.

It's basically the same four year extension Wentz and Goff got. The Cowboys were lowballing while those teams paid and got the deals done. People keep saying Dak was never going to sign, but the Cowboys never put a competitive offer on the table.
