They still may. We will see obviously. But it wouldn’t surprise me if they still do in the first 3-4 rounds.
Well see that's the thing. If you're still addressing free safety in later rounds than they haven't learned their lesson lol. They've been addressing safety in those rounds years before if they do at all.

I said that last year (woods is better at playing ss). Man was i flamed for it.

Still i think the same way. And whats more i think in todays nfl there is not a lot of difference between a strong and free safety anymore (when it comes to size).
Seems like a very odd opinion to flame you over. I didn't think anyone would even care about a Xavier Woods opinion to even flame you for it.

Wasnt there some advanced stats on how Woods missed quite a bit of tackles, % wise?

Or am I confusing him with a prospect?

They knew they had a problem last year, that’s why they tried to get Jamal Adams

Just about every team in the league wants Adams.

Not trying to get anyone else suggests they didn't see a real problem

Woods is too small (5'11", 195 lbs). His body will wear down laying hits at the Strong Safety position.

Draft Xavier McKinney (6'1", 205 lbs). He's bigger, stronger and is overall a better prospect at Strong Safety.

Quit messing around at the Strong Safety position Cowboys. You've gone cheap (draft and free agency/trade) for many years, yet you have yet to adequately fill the void left since when Darren Woodson retired. Enough already.

How much have w missed a guy like Woodson over the last decade and a half?

Here are HHCD's interception stats since being in the NFL. Compare that to any other Cowboys DB over that span. He also has never missed a game in his career.

2014 - 1 (Packers)
2015 - 2 (Packers)
2016 - 5 (Packers)
2017 - 3 (Packers)
2018 - 3 (Packers/Commanders)
2019 - 2 (Bears)

unless THE jets want to ship him away from a 2nd round pick, we are not getting Adams. No team in their right mind would give away a first round pick for a safety. I am glad we didn't trade for him last year. If memory serves, they wanted 2 first round picks and a mid round pick... That simply isn't going to happen.

Oh, and BTW:

GREAT SIGNING!!!!

No, Dix is not great, but he's a legit starting S, something we've been lacking. I love Jeff Heath, but he's just not a starter, doesn't possess the physical skillset.

Who knows who they were trying to get, ‘fans’ seems to think just because it’s not reported - they’re doing nothing. They don’t report every damn talk or move they are trying to make, if they did the Eagles would try to swoop in and undercut us because that’s what they do.

Heck everybody else then Heath is an Upgrade. Especially when he comes cheaper then Heath.

Guy couldnt cover, couldnt tackle, made false reads, took bad angles and took bad first steps most of the time. The only thing he is able to is hitting people. Unfortunatly most of the time our own because the game was(is) way too fast for him and he was last the last guy coming in on the tackle.

the only scary part about Dix being a FS is HE IS THE LAST LINE OF DEFENSE. lol..so when you consider his lack of tackling willingness..thats the bad part of the equation. But its where he belongs.
